I got a bit slackover the weekend as it was my birthday and didnt charge battery, went out today and started my work only for my battery to go low on charge on the 6th house, ive still got 4 town houses and 2 houses to go how long could i put it on fast charge just to finish them today.

Maximum of a couple of hours or you run the risk of buckling the plates by overheating them.

So fast charge in general is a no no then, it seems to take ages on slow charge.

It used to be called booster charging and a higher current was given to a battery to charge it faster, this is Ok for the odd occasion but to keep fast charging a battery does the internal plates no good.

As I say don't give it more than a couple of hours.

It all depends on the out-put of your charger and the size of your battery but you may just be lucky to get through a couple of hours.

In an emergency and temporary measure, can't you hook up to your van battery via a pair of jump leads to your auxiliary battery, that will be ok to get you out of a sticky situation.

Why not use the cigarette lighter socket as a power source and put a length of electrical cable via plug to your pump/varistream ?
