« on: July 28, 2008, 07:21:39 pm »
I had a new custy yesterday of which i said i will clean with wfp, she agreed.Next day got a call there's spots everywhere,me thinking well they where dirty (very) but i did the 2 cleans per window to aviod this. So got up ladder to have a look and there are spots, of which don't come of very easey. Tried trad method didn't do a lot so damp scrim and a bit of hard rubbing and they started to move but not all! I asked if the walls had been treated but this was a no i asked who cleaned them befor ,My husband .Hmmmmm where they there then, no she replied. So does the best i can and goes to the door to see here. She standing there with Mr muscle window cleaner, This is what my other half used . This moves them spots , it did for him. You said that they where'nt there before,I replied. So i now know that it has been a on going Problem,But what will shift them is my main Q. please

Do they run water sprinklers that could reach the affected windows?

Dave.

If you are worried about scratching the glass experiment with a small section first . dont use on " self cleaning glass" as it damages coating . If you are still unsure use a scouring pad it works but just takes longer.
I wet the window first as MDR is very thick.
It can take a while to though so be warned.

Are they vertical lines of spots or random everywhere?
Just thinking coz one of my customers had that roughcast treatment applied and where the rain channels down it and across the glass it leaves a right messy white run/spotty line of mineral deposit,  I've given up getting it off as it just comes back, crystal clear shifts it though

They seem to be patches of them, but i'm not going to bother with it if they just keep coming back. They want me to clean it with Mr Muscle. :P

May be it's the Mr Muscle, if there is a residue of the stuff left on the frames and in the rubbers then it might affect the windows adversely.

If you read the back of the bottle it clearly says, use a non abrasive pad! So wire wool must be a no go.  :)

wightsurf, squirt some on a normal applicator, scrub the window well, rinse it off with wfp, works everytime.

What you will find, is that it could very well be the traffic, one other thing that is absolutely guaranteed to get that, is barbeques, BBQ's are the curse of wfp, and trad even, you need mdr for that. No doubt.

If someone has a BBQ near a window, I move it away from the glass further and further each time I'm there cleaning their windows, to make it easier the next time I'm due ;D

The pads to use are the ones that say on the wrapper that they don't scratch - usually the ones with white abrasion though they may do the non scratch ones in green as well.
