The generosity of carpet cleaners towards their fellow professionals never ceases to amaze me.

I recently asked Len Gribble his advice regarding cleaning a large area of vinyl flooring in a school near me. He spent a good half hour on the phone running through what was required and even offered to help.

We did the job today - not only did we use Len's rotary machine, truckmount and chemicals, but he did most of the work, took us 5 hours.

I learnt a lot, impressed the client who has promised me more work and all Len wanted was the cost of his fuel !

Len you are a gentleman and a scholar - thank you.

so why haven't we got an independant forum which isnt run by people who are running it purely for the money they could or can get out of it, that way we could have a forum run by us for us and with no bias, maybe we could all chip in if it costs, i'm game, as long as i dont get banned, lol, just a thouht.

Quite a simple philosophy really Clinton - IF YOU DON'T ASK YOU DON'T GET - when my client turned up as we were packing away I pushed myself forward for the golf club he is a member of and also more work at the school - what the hell, they can only say no !

Being skint helps you develop a thick skin.

I just started carpet cleaning for a local letting agent, they asked me today if I would like to do the house cleaning as well, provided me with current rates and asked me to price match - well I wasn't going to say no !!

I'll worry about how to do it and what products I need to buy when they e-mail over the cleaning requirement list.

Could be expanding  ;D

did a letting agency office myself and they said they would use me and asked if i do house cleaning aswell, looks like thats the way to get letting agencies on your books, offer the full service. i'm certainly looking into it, we're offering a new system to them and from what they said today, they well liked my idea. its all about making there job easier.

i'm so enjoying my new job,

Clinton - they phoned me last week out of the blue, because their existing carpet cleaner broke his arm.

Done 3 cc jobs already - quoted for 2 replacements and now talking about the house cleaning.

Care on price matching remember our chat re your mates (now that’s an avenue for you they use you know what) ;) :o

Following e-mail received today from one of there customers

Hi Len

Please find attached below the new supplier form can you please ensure that
all fields are filled in, as I explained to you on the telephone I can not
complete the new supplier set up.

Once we have you set up on the system and the desk moves are complete I
would like all floors to be cleaned. At your leisure can you please re-new
your estimate.

Regards
I would supply the name/company toooooo many spies ;)

I also like the word estimate and eating humble pie. Wayne no we wont! We will have to half it so we get the job even though it’s in the bag. 8)

Thank for the accolades lads not needed but thanks
