Unfortunately its called link swapping for a reason
. This is why programmes like linkmachine work - if someone not so honest removes links in the hope that their own links will remain on other sites, then they will get a warning telling then to put them back on (in not so many words) or else there's will be removed.
I like the idea of this sort of thing never happening to me
