Learnt a lesson today

Arrived at a house this morning to be told that they didn't want it done. I have only done it twice and the windows had been egged the first time I did them.

When they asked me to clean their place, alarm bells went off in my head - their place is a mess with really long grass and rubbish everywhere in their garden.

I guess they only wanted me to do the hard work for them...

I won't be making that mistake again.  ::)

Always charge high for a first clean, then it matters not  ;)

You get loads like that, eventually you get a feel for them normally if they are really minging it's obvious they've put up with the dirt for years. I still do the best job i can, to the highest standard even though i'm sure i won't be back. You never know the  neighbours opposite might be watching.

 with time and experience you will read the signs better and your gut instinct will be more accurate, and you iether charge more or say your toooo busy ;)

The annoying thing was that I DID get the feeling that I was going to get mucked around.
Even mentioned it to my wife at the time, who reminded me of our conversation tonight.
I just didn't charge more or say I was too busy... :P

I will trust my instincts a little more next time.

I had one begining of the year. It was a canvassed one, £16.00 every 4 weeks, moss growing off the cills, frames and cladding in between the windows were black. They got the first clean for me at £50.00, came up lovely. Did the fronts first, when i came back round i had 2 people from the street waiting for me. They both said what a great job and were surprised that they were having them done. Anyway they cancelled on the next clean, saing they were not happy???? Turn up to do the other ones in the street, and the house was up for sale.
