just got a job at a school to clean the staffroom, its got vermitex 4000 down in tiles, its effin disgustin, ive quoted cheap and so i need something that will get the job done in one go apart from the chewing gum obviously, i'll have to treat them indi. thought about blitz, never used it before, does anyone know whats best, and if i will have any problems, i need to do this job quick, but with excellent results, i'll get excellent results anyway as i wont leave until im happy but if i can do it quick i can earn the right money for the job and quote the same for the rest of the school, cos thats what ive been promised.

You can hot water extract it derek.I have done similar work and used my texatherm l m system and the came up a treat and had them dry in twenty mins..

Have you looked at the back of one of the tiles.

A few years ago Burmatex were using PVC backings instead of bitumen so no probs with HWE.

cant get to the back, john gotts said no worries with bittumen bleed as long as i dont use solvents, he said there probably rubber bittumen rubber then man made fibre on top, i'm not to worried about cleaning them, i'm just worried its gonna take me all day instead of 5 hours, if i can do it in one pass then i'll be well happy, hence the best chem, oops sorry, solution for the job

Should be ok with blitz, then extract with hydradry or rinse free powder. If you have any prochem then christal green.

i have fib fab in my tank, would that be ok, as thats all i ever use when extracting

If you are prespraying with blitz the fibre fabric rinse should be ok. If you extract with crystal green (as it is disgusting that what i would use) then you can mist with fibre and fabric rinse.

Go carefully on the gum. Bitumen could blead or other backings could bubble. Test your gum products, rinse and allow to dry before you proceed.

i was gonna start a thread on gum, but feel as though ive started to many threads all ready and didnt want to push my luck, was gonna pierce the gum several times then hope the heat from the trucky would lift it, other than that maybe buy a steamer, anyone got any ideas as ive never removed gum before? i dont want to use solvents as i'm worried about bit bleed

HWE is fine on bitumen backed tiles its solvents you need to avoid!!

A gel doesn't seep down too far so can be used with care.

Citrus Gel is a prochem product, I prefer that to any freeze sprays

will the truckmount get the gum out with some pricking of the gum, or will i need to do them manually with say cit gel

Prick it first then apply Citrus Gel. I usually leave it down for 2-3 mins then the tm just eats it up
