I wouldn't worry what anybody else charges, only you know how much money a day you need to earn to run your business. I know im not answering you question, but you are the only one who can answer this one.

work out what they would earn you if doing normal work in 2 1/2 days then add a little on as running none stop costs more money.

you say 2 1/2 days,... is that 6 hour days or 12 hour days (or somewhere in between)???

Depending on your overheads etc, I reckon £200 is a kind of minimum daily rate per man for an 8 hour day, so I'd be saying £1000 + VAT as a starting point,.... but if the days are longer, the job is awkward, or you simply think you can get away with it,... add some on top just to be sure!

I'm with Dave on this one but would not go any lower than £30/hr/man.

So 15hrs x 2 men - 30hrs
30x£30 - £900 min.

Any less not worth doing it.

Some of the big boys go in at silly low prices,.. not even worth trying to compete.

If a low price is going to hurt you financially, don't do it .   Do it for you, not to win the job as you will later regret it if you have priced it too low.

Several years ago I was given excellent  advice :- " If it hurts, don' do it ! "

The big boys want big money , It is a myth that they go in cheap.

They only say its cheap when they try to sub it out to you.

I'd price them at least £200 per day per man... so £1000 at least, more if you think you can get away with it. If you're going to tie up 5 man days on one job, then price well... price better than your best days work anywhere else, or you'll always feel like you're losing out!

i think this depends where you are in the country round my way the big firms can be ridicously cheap, we have just lost a job that was a big college and worked out at about £15 an hour per man if they where good fast window cleaners, we lost the job on price alone as they have said they where very happy with the job we did but our price was too high we had done the job for over five years.
some of these big firms only pay minimum wage, i cant wait to see what state the windows will be left in when they finish but if they do a good job then i will be very worried about my other work.
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

Trev

That can be sometimes true especially when the cleaning firms are using cleaners instead of window cleaners to do the windows.

I picked a couple of big jobs where they have finally had enough of the poor standard caused by the minimum wage brigade
