canvassing companies do they really work!?!
« on: July 12, 2008, 08:57:05 pm »
I have only heard bad things about window cleaning canvassing companies! Mostly from forums, now I am looking for more work and I recently tried contacting 2 WC local that was selling up, after weeks of trying the work had gone!

Now It’s not an option for myself to get out and canvass, so I have been seriously thinking of getting in a canvassing company, has anyone used the below companies for WFP and found you was happy with them! Or any feedback please

Andy...i have contacted rounddevelopers and they are coming to me in september.I previously on three occassions used doorknockers without great success,i gave them the benefit of the doubt on the first two occassions, but third time was a disaster for me.
I have also used my own canvassers, but to be honest they just didn't perform.

best way is to get out there and do it yourself. Whenever you have a quiet day mark out you diary for canvassing. Why buy work when you can sell work?

To be able to sell work you will need someone to buy the work....which is what Andy is trying to do??

Tried that and lost out. Canvassers are out there for one reason to make money of our backs, as are yellow pages. Better to get out there and sell your services....

I use roundbuilders, built me 90% of my round. I dont think they are taking on anymore new customers for domestic rounds at the moment as they are booked until the end of the year looking after existing and booked new customers, thats what i was told last week. But Gemma did say they still have places for commercial canvassing?

I have never used a canvassing company and to be honest haven't really done much canvassing over the years as I prefer to leaflet. I am still getting replies to leaflets I dropped years ago.

Poleman you say canvassing is not an option for you. Can I ask why?

"There were very few problems, but when they did arise Steve dealt with them quickly and fairly, "

Taken from the website

Says it all really, why advertise you have problems, is it because there WILL be problems so you are forewarned ?

As much as I would like to canvass my self its really not a option, because of my health, doing a days work and paper work in the evening

It would seem Door Knockers and def a company not to use, and they was the ones that I heard bad things about

Which leaves me with two, and roundbuilders are booked up to the end of the year, which is no good to me as I need the work in by the end of Aug, so it only remains h ttp://cleaner-marketing.blogspot.com has anyone used this company before! if so feed back would be great!

I have used door knockers and did not have a problem I also know others that use them and they are happy also. I did ask another to get work but they never got back to me which I find rude  ::) so I just bought a round instead.

i have used door knockers on and off for the last 2 years. although i have had a couple of issues every now and then, they have always sorted it out and i kept going back so i would say that is a recomendation in its self. i have tried to mould thier service to the way i wanted it done...that didn't work. but the work i have got is very good so now i really leave it up to them and let them have pretty much free rein.

i understand how much work i have and how much i hold onto long term. i can see how people will think its either a waste of money or something that they can do themselves but i guess it depends on how big your business is and where your time is more valued. i wouldn't knock doors, i concentrate on growing my business and for the inital investment of 2x 1 monthly clean is a good investment and is helping to grow my business on a monthly basis. i have £750 pcm of new work to fit in this week along with all my other work.

i have had 5 cancellations before i've even started but that is the name of the game from sorting the wheat from the chaf! i have just learned to be patient with paul bass at door knockers because things do sort themselves out in the end. it works for me and i guess i can see how it would not work for others because i very nearly went down that route. after a lot of thought i realised that it is good for my business and i intend to use them a lot more as well on an on going basis
