the pressure going into a merlin should not be below 40 psi nor should it be above 80 i think

How long was it running for before you tested it?  They can give a high reading in the first few litres.  My Merlin has had a fair bit of use now but the TDS can still be high on the first few litres after shutting off for a while.  Also, have you got a decent flow on your waste?  If insufficient waste is coming out (perhaps because you are using a very narrow pipe), this can increase the TDS a bit from the RO.  I only know this because I deliberately restricted the waste flow recently and the TDS out went from around 008 up to 016 (two resin bottles after RO so no problem).
