ive always struggled to get under the lip at the top, you know where most of the crap collects, i thought about it on the last job i did and last night i did one and it worked really well.

i got my extension pole with my mop on it, ive got a porcipine mop and pushed it underneath lip no problem and slid from side to sidepulled all the stuff down and got that visable bit really clean! then i rubbed the whole pain down with squeege off and the porcipine mop and just rinsed off with the pole, came up really really nice!

and ive been strugglin for ages scrubbing with pole never getting to that top bit, ill take on more cause i used to hate doing them

was nothing to do with the style of mop, any mop will do, just making a point about the dirt under the lip  :

they work really well mate, and they do hold water

And in this context, their water-holding capacity isn't really an issue.

I've done exactly the same by wrapping a tesco microfibre round the end of a short pole and having a good old poke round and pulling the stuff out.

You can find all sorts of crud up there, can't you? I've even found quite large twigs. Where did THEY come from?
