BAFFLING - THE SOLUTION
« on: June 30, 2008, 12:55:30 pm »
A little while ago I found the patents to a baffle design that can be retro fitted to any tank of any size or shape. The baffle was originally designed for use on fire pickup trucks that have a large skid tank on the back - which is basically what we have in our vans.

Here is an article about the original designs of baffle:

And here are the ONLY two manufacturers who make the product. Both have slightly different designs but are essentially the same, they currently aim the products at large tankers. But manufacture them in lots of sizes to fit different tanks:

Here are some pictures:

Manufacturers or individuals may want to take advanrage of these products. Because it means that any tank can be used safely. Luke

I see there being uses for manufacturers and users alike.

Manufacturers could buy plain tanks cheaper and baffle them themselves. It also makes the tank market more open to manufacturers as more tanks will be suitable for wc'ing as any tank can be baffled.

Individual users can buy a big ibc and baffle it themselves with a proper baffling product. Or  if your not happy with your current "baffled" tank then these would be good. Luke

Seem like a good idea. Thought the baffles had to be fixed/tightly packed? Judging by these, i dont suppose they do! Im getting a new tank and im not happy with the standard baffles, so will email them to see if they deliver to the U.K. :)
