Tank Setup
« on: June 29, 2008, 07:13:15 pm »
Right guys here goes - I am ready for a tank system and yes I know most of you said don't bother buying the freedom trolley a year ago when I started as I would upgrade to a van system eventually but I did and no regrets as I have built my business on it so far, however I have picked up some contract work and its time to upgrade - need to carry more water etc.

I have had a quote from pure freedom for £1780
it includes a 650ltr tank and 2 people can work off it so 2  x poles, 2 x 100m hoses with reels, 2 pumps, battery, new tds meter.
The price includes fitting but its £400 to fit it which includes the metal cage which they supply.
Dont think I have missed anything.

I want to keep my trolley seperate for hard to reach access.

I need to do this a bit cheaper really as I think fitting is expensive and want to know can I buy all these parts cheaper and is it easy or hard to install my own system? Or should I just pay and the full amount and be done with it? I gotta travel approx 200 miles to get there aswell and find somewhere to stay for the night hotel etc so in the end its gonna cost me £2000+ to get this sorted!

Anywhere cheaper closer to me Im in Telford Shrops.

Sorry for the s.a.  ;D
Cheers
Andy

I travelled up there from East Sussex 250 miles away, 4 months ago to get exactly the same system installed, left at 3am arrived at 7.30, got dropped to hotel by Andrew McCann (hes left since then tho) at 9 (cost £20 inc brekkie) got collected at 2pm back to van where they explained how it worked then left at 3pm arriving home at 8pm cost me £80 in fuel, so its well worth it.

As it is a long term investment with good earning potential IMO it is worth the peace of mind in having it professionally fitted.

Personally I think if it is an option for you, to go for static water purification system in garage as I prefer to have less equipment on van and it doesn't get jiggled about.

Also how you getting on with it? -  did you have the connectors for hoses on outside of the van or inside and what about the battery setup did you have installed to run the system?

650lt tank from Etatron (www.etatron.co.uk) About £218 inc del and VAT.  Pump and varistream £190 from Cleaningspot.  Battery and charger about £124 from Battery Megastore (www.batterymegastore.co.uk)  Metal hosereel and 100m microbore and fittings £124 from CleaningSpot.  Protectakote £53 from Cleaningspot.

Fit tank by bolting 2 - 1/4" x 2" angle irons across the cargo bay - bolt down through a good solid chassis member with high tensile bolts.  Drill the angle irons to suit the tank and restrain with 2 (or more) 5-ton ratchet straps.  (People will tell you these are not strong enough, but they will rip the chassis up through the floor before they give way)

Total cost about £850 and a days work :)
