There has been some discussion on the FWC, for and against being a member.

The cost of membership for a sole trader is £102.50 a year or less than £2 a week. I think it works out a lot cheaper if you have staff!

Just to throw the ball back in your court for those that are not a member, what would you expect from the FWC, for your membership fee?

We could start with transparancy and integrity!

Do you remember when Philip Hanson (PWC Mag guy) wanted to see their accounts and they gave him the run-around and then refused; even though he was entitled to do so?

I have requested packs from loads of different feds as im joing one, thought FWC was really unprofesionnal as it was 18 months old. So going with FSB.

Im with the FWC and FSB, both for different reasons., I found the FWC contact at the begining to be fine. They sent out some bits in the post, a year old mag to show what you will get in the post monthly ect. Signed up, get id cards, stickers, lots of information relating to window cleaning and discounts. I only joined really, if im honest, for the logo. Good selling point to my customers ect. The FSB i have been with for 3 years, free legal advice has come in handy a fair few number of times for personal and business reasons. The monthly mags are quite interesting also, and again you get discounts at different places. Also they will take over things if you get an IR visit.

Didn't Philip say his membership was revoked after he asked to see the accounts? (Or did he say they refused to renew it when it ran out?)

i think he had an alterior motive, he caused a lot of grief to discredit the fwc yet he had not disclosed his links with ionics. he discredited  the fed mag before he started his "own" one. it was a case of discredit the opposition.... IMO so i dont get this removed

Well lets turn the question around. If I were to join, what would I get for my money?

Most of these type of things start out with good intentions but end up just existing to pay the wages of a few people who have got themselves a nice little number.
