marketing advice
« on: June 24, 2008, 07:30:48 pm »
Hi guys,

I have organised some postcard sized leaflets to be printed and they are asking me for ideas of what to put on.  I'm great with a hoover but ask me to be creative and I get a mental block!  ???

Does anyone have any ideas.?  I am targeting both domestic and small offices and would also like to promote my new website.

You can also have a look at www.heavenscentcleaning.co.uk and tell me what you think.  The site was created by one of my customers Keyclicks in west yorkshire and I think they have done a fab job, I have asked them to do the leaflets for me.

cheers

Ange,
Your website is great. We have always used postcard type leaflets and have found that people keep them for absolutely ages rather than throw them away as they look too good to go in the bin as with normal leaflets. In a totally non-related post, could I ask you where you get your insurance from as we are looking to renew, do the same work as yourself and have been looking for a company that will cover us for accidental damage without it costing a fortune more that without it.
Thanks
dee

I think your website looks really good, I'm looking to get one done. Can I ask how much it cost?

We get all our business from word of mouth referrals or via the website (www.sheltoncleaning.co.uk)

I put the website together myself and use free hosting from Heart Internet, so it's a bit of a bargain.  I'm also doing some work on my sisters website - it's not that difficult, but you have to be interested in that sort of thing in the first place, I guess!

Just trying to say . . . don't pay over the odds, as it can be done for nothing, if you just apply yourself.

Also, try not to rip off anyone else's prose . . tends to p*** people off ... ...

Hi,

Sorry only just noticed there are some questions on this thread!  I get my insurance through www.blackfriarsgroup.com.  They are the brokers and the insurance policy is with MMA insurance.  I haven't had to claim so far (touch wood will stay like that).  so not sure if they are problematic in getting any money out of them if need be.  They are quite cheap as well.

The website was done free of charge by one of my customers (keyclicks UK).  They are also doing my promotional leaflets as well.  There is a link on my website under the our clients tab if you want to contact them.  I really don't know how much they charge normally.

Shelton - I am really sorry.  I thought you were being complimentary about the wording then I looked at your website.  I imagine you are talking about the family run business bit!  I  can't believe it! the company who did the website came up with all the wording apart from the spec section.  If you want me to get that changed I will ask them to reword it cos it looks like i've totally ripped it off your website and trust me I haven't!!! But yes I really don't mind getting it changed

Hi Angela,

Glad you can see the similarity too, but don't bother getting it changed, it's simply not worth the hassle.

If you were in my neck of the woods, then maybe I'd care more, but you're not, so I don't.

Good luck, I'm sure we could all do with it.
