Did you receive your copy of C&M News?
In it is a large ad by a company called 'Bye Bye Gum'.
Plastered all over it is the Woolsafe logo and they say they are the only gum remover approved by woolsafe, so far so good.
So take a look at the web site
www.byebyegum.com and in the instructions it tells you how to use the product which can take hours or days to remove some gum.
But what got me is the final part where is says that after removal neutralise by washing out the area with soapy water

.
Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't this now make the product
not woolsafe and item cleaned full of soil attracting residue. It does not quote the pH so there is no way of knowing what level you begin at but to qualify as woolsafe it must be in the range of 5.5- 8.0 so how does the lady of the house know its not above 8.0 after she's washed it out and its air dried, (possible browning problems here as well)
There are no instructions to the lady of house on what soapy water to use, so it could be washing up liquid, hand soap etc when it possibly should be instructing them (depending on the pH) to use a product that is also woolsafe such as Stergene.
I am not knocking the product as I have never used it, what I am questioning is the instructions for use and the woolsafe accreditation as a result.
Does anyone know any more about this product.
