I replaced my pole hose with new that is 15 metres longer than the normal pole hose length. And yes it is much better. It is light and thin and wraps around the handle neatly when not in use.
Just move the trolley once or twice and clean away. Moving the trolley for every 2nd window is a pain and very time consuming.

when i built a trolley, i had the outlet at the bottom and just connected the pole hole. Usually just buy a longer length of hose to fit inside the pole so you dont have to move it about much. I dont know of anywhere that do small reels suitable, but have seen one on a omnipole trolley.

Or you can wrap it around the top, but its usually a pain. I would just put a longer pole hose on, about 20ft after fully extended.

I have a couple of reels for mine but usually find for the average house my 25m one is fine. Is it better? Yes, moving the trolley continually is annoying and time consuming. I tried using an extended pole hose but couldn't get on with it and I had to still move the trolley once or twice. So I moved over to a hose real and found it much better one of the main benefits being once the trolley is in place and I had the hose out I have no need to move the trolley again and can work continually without stopping window to window around the whole house. People might disagree but for that reason I prefer a hose reel to an extended pole hose

i see what you mean WCE but then really to me its no different than having a van mount set up other than you have to take it in and out of your work vech. I guess the idea is if you cant park close to the job or something. I wouldnt mind a 125ltr omnitrolley with a hose reel but not on a little 25, by the time the water has gone through the hose the tank will need filling again!

I no what you mean I use mine to reach work where I cant use a van mount so your right, The trolley I use is a omnitrolly clasdsic ( 50 l capacity) so it does make a difference in water capacity compared to a pure freedom trolley or a backpack and I can work say 45min to an hour using this method so to me it is worth it and certainly quicker than trad on the jobs in question.

20mtr of 5mm ID pole hose gets me to the back of every house on my round without having to take the trolley into the garden. At the front I can often do up to six fronts without having to move the trolley.

It seldom tangles up but does occasionally get caught on things which is a bit frustrating. I find that as I enter a property I'm watching for potential hazards on the floor and most times I can avoid them. I also find that for the most part keeping bottom of the pole close to the floor helps as it keeps the hose on the floor and it then slides round things rather than getting caught on them. This doesn't always work but even going back to unhook it occasionally I'm still working much faster than I used to trad.

yes, but it tangles less now warmer days are here. More so in the winter when it's cold.
What i like about it though is it is light and won't snap stems or pull over other things when it brushes up against them. Unlike my microbore when i 1st started out wfp.
What m&c says about keeping the base of the pole close to the floor is a good one as well. Took me ages to stumble across that, but it does help alot.

Way to stop it tangling up is to put it in hot water and wrap it how you want it, put it in cold water problem solved for a little while. NWH  ;D

Sorry, I wasn't very clear about keeping the bottom of the pole close to the floor. I meant when entering and moving around the property.
