It's not meant to be quick, it's meant to demonstrate a product.

Really... ??? :P :P

Sorry, sarcasm doesn't come accross very well in this sort of situation.

I'm sure it's a good idea though.

What sort of switch/valve do you use?  Is it heavy?

It's a little toggle valve on the brush, and it's very light.

Peter I hope you dont mind my comments I made on the "Trigger" thread earlier...below...
 ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

The only way I can see this happening is a...

Remote controlled on/off switch/valve on the TOP of the POLE behind the brush!

It cant be anywhere else due to the hose constantly moving (but not at the top of the pole!)

I know some have come up with the autobrush and the remote controlled on/off van/pump!
Autobrush I feel will ruin some plaster on some houses! (IMO)
The remote controlled van/pump on/off can sometimes be to far away to receive signal!

SO COME ON INVENT ONE!!!
I WANT ONE AND I WANT IT NOW!!!!

Now getting back to my question your...

little toggle valve on the brush, and it's very light... could that be Remote controlled  instead of the knocking sideways action?  :-\

Tell me if you think I am talking rot!  :-[

I have not been following the thread as I have been a bit busy lately, but I will have a look.

To answer these questions though.  It would be very difficult and costly to make it remote controlled, and there would be issues with water.  I have used remotes in the past and although better than nothing, you still have to stop what your doing to turn the water on and off.  This is the most important point of any other water control device.  If you have to stop what your doing, even for a few seconds, then you won't, you will simply keep the water flowing from window to window, and more.  Another issue with remote controls is the environment we work in, small electrical devices in damp conditions is not ideal.

Now the good bit, the Autobrush has been transformed, all the issues people have had in the past have been solved.  I am sending 4 out to people shortly from my forum, for evaluation, but I can't honestly see any problems.  I am going to try and do a video of it tomorrow if I get the time, so as people can see how much better it is now.

What you should do is take the jets out a run a small hacksaw up and down the groove a few times to open the hole up a bit, it might make a difference.  If not and you want pencil jets, then drill the hole right through.

One other thing.
I have never used Fan jets,
Having seen them in operation, I don't think it would do well for my type of cleaning as I try to clean all the frame...
I don't want to drag dirt of the wall above!

Do you do a pencil version?
Look forward to video
Regards steve

I still think he missed a bit!  ;)

No I was thinking of getting one of these, better that this stupid valve thing.
Only problem for me is I regulate flow with the valve as my ECOFLOW
(varistream wan-a-be!) is crap!
 ::)

When did you get your eco flo and why is it crap.

Yes I do pencil jets as well, but very very rarely, and only if my arm is twisted up my back ;D

If the video is not done tomorrow it will be on Friday.

Quite simple really, just moved things around.  Instead of side to side it's up and down.  Once the brush is switched on the only part protruding is the bar at the bottom.  Now there is nothing in the way until you come to the bottom of the window, and the angle you clean the ledge dosn't accidentally switch the brush off.  Then when you do want to turn the water off you simply change the angle you are holding the pole at, and the water is off.  Like I said it still has to be properly tested but I can't see a problem with it.

The bar is a lot shorter as well which makes it much stronger and less prone to bending.  And for the people who think you have to bash it off the window frames, you now when the brush is in position slightly push the pole upwards.  And at the bottom just changing the pole angle or letting the pole rest on the window ledge is enough to turn the water off.

You will get a better idea when you see the video.

Better waiting until you see the video, and probably better waiting until it has been tested other than by me.

(varistream wan-a-be!) is (not so good)!
 ::)

When did you get your eco flo and why is it (not so good).

I bought it from Essientially pure ltd
It was calibrated for 6mm hose (apparently better with 8mm...don't ask me!)

It has a dial/twist numpty... If I set it anywhere but almost full on(but not full on!)
it keeps cutting out, cant get a continuous flow (according to leaflet recognizes cut off)

so I set it high and use valve to adjust flow!  :-[

My brother in law has a varistream, he sets his to about half way on and thats fine.
Once he has set his flow it is just on/off with valve...easy! 8)
