this poll as been brought on due to the harris (groundhog) topic , just wanted to see what poles we do actually favour . i use facelift , exel and allso have a harris which is not my favoured pole for me its my facelift , never used slx but do like the write ups on this and may get 1 soon not in the £15 bracket but you get what you pay for imo .

You can only really say which pole you like the best if you have used them all, I have used extel, powerpole, predator, unger and a Harris pole, out of these the Harris pole is head and shoulders above the others!!!

I've done it Dave, but I don't think you have included enough poles, as 'other' seems to be the most popular option!!!

I have a facelift pole and its great for domestics and where you have windows at different levels bit awkward on some windows over conservatories

I also have a sl2 great for high windows and awkward windows over conservatories and good if you have lots of windows at the same level downside it can be awkward when access is tight

Have also used a universal and extender poles which as long as you use them under 20ft are okay anything above useless

THese are the only poles i have used so can only comment on them

I use a 12ft extender as my main pole, SL2 when I can't reach.

Perfectly happy with both of them.

How tall are you Squeaky? I'm 6ft and theres no way I could manage with a 12ft pole!!

No, I agree 18ft excel is my main pole and I couldn't use anything shorter. So cheap when they get ropey I can just buy another.

Gardiners SLX - brilliant.
Gardiners S2- Superb
Thompson Reload carp pole 25'- not far behind the S2 for lightness
21' extel glass pole - not bad for the money
12' extender - crap but ok for conservatories probably worse than a Harris pole by a long way.

I'm just under 6ft.
Fine for 85% of windows.
I get the SL2 out probably on 2 or 3 houses most days.
Sometimes more, sometimes not at all.

What's wrong with it?

I've used mine for 13 months and it's been rigid, fairly light and quick to slide in and out.

I can't see what's wrong with it. (as long as you're careful not to get fibreglass splinters when it's getting old)

Your doing well to get thirteen months wear out of it. If mine had lasted that long, i would have been happy too.
