Baptism by fire!

Did a cul the sac with just old people, thought oh dear, this will be interesting, but they were all very very impressed, also with the letter I sent them 2 days before explaining the system, comments ranged from : 'that's one impressive piece of kit' to, 'oh I'm so glad your safe with this new technology thing my dear, no more ladders'. All were smiling and even the grumpiest of grumpy ladies asked me how I was getting on with the new system, managed to make her smile, which was nice, especially after she realised it was still the same price.

Plus it started chucking it down, hose was all muddy, had to keep wiping my hands on a microfibre, didn't do that in the beginning, and my SL-X started grinding because of the grit, quickly rinsed the clamps under a tap, oh dear. I was soaking from the rain, customers very happy though.

Next time I'll wear my unger pouch, and keep a couple of cloths in there to wipe my hands when they get dirty, trousers were dirty, and t-shirt muddy and wet.

And yes, I hit the hosereel connector again, don't think I've ever put a hoselock connector that quickly on a hosereel. Did make the van all stinky, heater on full and window open on the way back.

Overall impressed with my system, cleans windows very well. Only problem is the windows were old upvc, which did come up very nicely, but the windows were badly beading, which was okay with a lot of rinsing, but the seals were the type that kept the drips for a minute or so, and then nicely created a line of water, which dries up with little spots going down, tried to fix it by leaving the frame to dry a minute or so wherever possible, if it was a hassle, I turned off the flow, and used the brush to catch the drips first, then turn flow on, and focus on the glass. Because they were beading, it was difficult to get the water to get in the top corners, my own house is like that, and I have to direct the pencil jets to the corners, otherwise I leave spots there. Did everything brush on rinsing, Ionics multipole brush. I *think* they came up nicely.

Used the numatic trigger, 5 hours work, used half my tank, so about 200l, not bad at all for first cleans, and rinsing and scrubbing like crazy.

Got my second fascia clean off one of the customers, £68.

I'm quite happy, but I do hate beading windows already.  :)

Sorry for all the threads lately, but things went wrong, and had to ask how to fix things, hopefully I can return the favour now and then.

I'll try to take some pictures of the van tomorrow.

Wow! That is only a litre a minute. Are you related to jeff brimble?  ;D
I use 1 1/2 - 2 litres of water p/m nowadays. I must try a numatic trigger.
Good luck with it.

Yea I'm very happy with it, saves a lot of water I think, and for leaky frames you can quickly give it a squirt and then scrub instead of leaving it on all the time. It got a bit sore between my thumb and forefinger, cuz of the pole rubbing there, I'm sure I'll get thicker skin there.

Trigger is great, can't believe other people faff around with a tap on the hip or gas valve, must be very impractical to use.

Here you go, you take the black tube off, and put your pole hose at the front, and the minibore connector at the back, you strap it to the pole with some zipties or whatever you can use.

Just depress to get the water flowing. :)

I've found the best/cheapest place for these triggers to be eBay. Just do a search for 'Trigger valve.'

I did my first day WFP in the rain as well last October. I've not needed to work in the rain since. As I get through all my work so much quicker, there's enough dry days in the month to get it all completed most of the time.

I also find fitting the trigger low down on the pole to be helpful as when the poles get a little worn as you can stop the pole collapsing by looping your little finger round the hose where it comes out of the pole and still use a finger to opperate the trigger.

Yes you do! But the loop of spare hose will be below the trigger if you loop it back and hold it in place where it exits the trigger.
If your pole is a relatively short residential pole, this loop of hose is not usually long enough to cause too many problems compared to the benefits. I use a 12ft and an 18ft pole with few problems. Of coarse when you're using the poles fully extended then all the hose is up the pole, so no probs at all.

when uploading a pic thats on you pc click relpy on a post not quote (if it has htt p ect you have to edit it.

after click relpy type something then click additinal options two boxes appear click browse this will then get you to look for the image on your pc. when you have found it click on it and the text of the location on pc should then be to the left of the browse button, click ok post or what it says at the bottom.

this should work ;)

I have uploaded the pc for you anyway.
