I'm not trying to put anyone down. I certainly wouldn't try to put Ian down.

I'm just giving my honest useful advice if he or anyone else would like to try for themself.

One last tip: if you are going to use a long pole for ground floor windows you will find it a lot quicker and much easier to use a long reach pole fitted with a swivel head on the brush. If you don't believe me at my word, spend (invest as Clive calls it) in a cheap swivel connector and compare for yourself.
I would try most things, auto brush is on the way.

Tried bentley brush did not like it much, swivel is one thing I still have not tried.

I have a small pole but found it is more hassle switching and putting to poles back in the van 4 if guy with me. (odd jobs I would agree with you on the shorter pole.) most of my work is fine with the xtel 17ft always have the baby pole in the van just in case.

I have to agree with that, I would never waste the time changing poles.  What I have seen me doing in tight spaces is taking the brush off the pole to clean the bottoms.  If set up correctly this can be done in a second or two.

Like, grounddhog, it's good of you ian to be posting vids to be commented on. I don't think anything said has been critical, cos ways have been mentioned where speed will be gained.
If the finish is good then that technique is fine ian. You will gain time further on and by the looks of it much quicker than i did cos you have done this already. Took me around 18 months to try this particular method to increase my productivity. Fair play.

Though i would do the top frame 1st and once which gives it the longest possible time to drip before doing a final brush down.
I also studied windows before i started the following clean. After a half a dozen  cleans i saw a pattern of which sides were cleaner, which windows were more forgiving. etc.
Learning where to concentrate my time is just like getting a payrise. Same money but less time. happy days!!  ;D
Waynes post sums up how it is for me now.
Good luck with it.

One good thorough scrub covering everything is essential, then a quick rinse down from the top to the bottom in any pattern you fancy so long as the weight of the water pulls any gritty bits of dirt down with it.

I would agree with the statements above and can't see anything wrong with a little constructive criticism, especially when it can help the person it't directed at.  Anyway here's mine.  I agree that there is too much water and time on the rinsing.  Also I would finish the little top window, run the brush over the framework underneath, and then start on the bottom window.

Do you do a little magic part time?  One minute the pole is standing against the wall, the next it disappears, and then reappears in your hand a second or two later.

Well done for posting your video Ian, I think that more should follow our lead and do the same. You can learn a lot from watching others techniques, and its also educational to watch yourself working on film, and to hear others comments even if there not all good!

Agree with you there , but try to make the comments constructive, as a few harsh  words can crush the spirit if you are feeling down allready !  Not directed at you Graham  :D

constructive criticism I think is a good thing, just criticism is not, as it helps no one.
I knew full well I would get some type of criticism which I like as I use it to my advantage so thanks guys.

If this helps anyone then thats great it has done it job, I will be making more as I like helping others, I also like looking at myself on cam  ;D

If I get time today I will do another one, this time with someone holding the cam rather than me using a plant pot and van keys to hold cam in place.

Can see me getting a tripod if people like the vids.
