Q) is this a 4 or 5 pin relay -
A) These are 4 pin.

and then more to the bottom it says :

Q) this relay is 5 pin? 85 86 30 87 87a is this correct? - Mark Turner
A) Yes that is correct.

I'm confused with that.

Just checked it myself  : what a bunch of GONKS? according to the diagram its a 4 pin one, then one guy says its 4 pin and the other guy says its 5 pin, no wonder your confused, they confused me at the same time.
Give me half hour and I'll phone my own local Maplins to see what they say.

Just phoned them and they had to look at one  : they are five pin relays.

Leave it with me for a little while and I'll do another search.

I would also be inclined to ask if it comes with complete instructions, I have seen many posts on here were the guy's have bought this item from ebay, only to find they lack instructions.

Have you tried the relay you already have??
this could be just a case of bad connection/s just stick the coil across the battery and listen for the click

Good point, all right, I'll buy one of them. I mean it has got to be the relay, there is voltage coming from the no charge wire to the relay, but it doesn't click or anything like that.

did you buy a ki t from ebay or just the relay also post ebay number so i can have a look as i bought a relay kit from ebay totaly different wireing diagram to yours

If you don't hear a click when you apply voltage to the coil, then the relay is Naff.

Ebay item number gives an invalid item, so it's past it's date, bought it a long time ago.
