The pole is as good as any i have ever used, maybe not the best in every way  but

Pros and cons ?  more pros than cons than most poles.

How long has it taken you to do your extra fast speed video, since you made up your mind you are going to do it?

Peter

I didn't say an extra fast video, I said a video of me cleaning at full speed. The video will be posted next week!!!  ;)

Err, going off topic slightly, my wife just bought a brand new Skoda Fabia Greenline on friday. It's averaging 67mpg at the moment, pulls like a train and seats five and the road tax is £35 ............ so who needs a Ferrari or an Aston?

Similar argument wouldn't you agree?

No not really!! both cars will get me from A to B, but the Ferrari or Aston will pull me more birds!!! ;D  A window cleaning pole, no matter how flash, will not help me pull any birds!!!!!!  ;)

Someone could very easily do a video that would prove their pole was far far better, all they would have to do is a video cleaning a window above a conservatory for instance.

Peter

I will post a video of me using the harris pole above a conservatory next week, someone else can post a vid of there pole doing the same and we will make a comparison.

You all seem to be good at talking the talk, lets see someone walk the walk for a change!!!!!!!!!

Nobody said it was original, it was just to prove that this brilliant value pole from B&Q could be used to do exactly the same job as a £400+ carbon pole. As I have said if your pole is so much better, then prove it with a video!!!!!!!!!  ;)

OK in my last post I should have looked back and quoted you about the speed thing to get my wording right.

I should also have made it clear what I was meaning about the proving it on a video.  What I meant was a £400 24' pole working at full height would be proved to be much much better than a Harris pole in a video, for the simple reason the Harris dosn't go to that height.  Now supposing the two poles could reach the same window, and were both videoed doing so then it would be hard to prove which was better.  Yes you would see the Harris pole bend much more, but there is other things that come into play that have already been mentioned before.

Check my videos Peter, my modified Harris pole extends to 22.5ft, its slightly bendy at that height, but works fine!! When I have completed my new improved version, it will work even better at that height!!   :)

I don't really want to argue about which pole is best, I just wanted to show others a great value pole, and prove what it could do on video, after certain people tried to rubbish it!!

It is without doubt the best window cleaning pole I have ever used, and I have used quite a few ie powerpole, extel, predator, modified unger ect, all of which were much more expensive than the harris pole!!! But yet the harris pole is lighter, more durable, has easier to use clamps, and slides in and out more smoothly than any of the above!!! That is why I am so impressed with it, and wanted to let everyone know about it!!!

If I thought for one minute that there was a pole out there that would make my working day easier, and most importantly help me get more work done in the day than my harris pole then I would buy it like a shot!!! But I don't believe that even the most expensive carbon pole will allow me to get any more work done than I can do with my value for money harris, that's why I would like someone to post a video to show me why I should part with £400+ for a pole instead of £15!!!!!

So someone please post a video of their slx/facelift or whatever in action, so we can make a proper comparison!!!!

I saw the pictures of your mk11 gutter tongs!! they look great, and when I get a bit of spare time I'm going to attempt something similar myself, 1st of all I'm going to copy your mk1 gutter thingy, which I think is a brilliantly simple idea!! As all the best ideas always are - simple yet affective! Cheers mate  :)

This can't be shown in a none professional low resolution video, go & buy one to see for yourself. you've just contradicted yourself BTW, you state at 22.5ft the harris is bendy so for a start the sl-x is easier & quicker to use. there you go, now go & become a pro'. ;)

I am a proffessional businessman, and as such I don't waste my money on equipment that is not going to improve the way I work. If the slx is quicker then it can be proved on a video clip, a proffessional video clip could be edited and altered in many ways, my clips show it as it is, warts n all, as I said before, if your gonna talk the talk then at least be brave enough to walk the walk!!!

Groundhog I think you are getting a bit carried away.   Someone could very easily do a video that would prove their pole was far far better, all they would have to do is a video cleaning a window above a conservatory for instance.

I'm still waiting for the video Peter!!! Here is a video of the Harris pole cleaning a window above a conservatory roof as promised, notice how the slight whip in the pole makes it easier to clean the lower part of the window!!!

Still haven't worked out how to do the link, but its on youtube and its called 'Harris pole above conservatory roof'

Yes I think my wife uses msn, not sure how to use it, and the wifes gone out to her weekly pub quiz, so can't ask her! I will ask her when she gets in, and let you know our address. I'm intrigued to know what you want to have a chat about!!!  :)

Groundhog,

I had my photo taken today using a Facelift pole by a female Aussie holiday maker cleaning some high rise flats down Dartmouth today. I gave her my email address on my business card and she promised to send me my pic by email. When I get it I'll post it on here for you to compare the rigidity of this pole. Anyone got a camcorder I could borrow to show Groundhog an SLX in action.
