Vikan mono in my opinion - easy to get and a reasonable price, last for ages. Once you get over the fist clean a Bentley is far lighter and does the job.
Thanks for that  ;D

I knocked out the rivets on the harris and replaced the end with one out of brush pole, thats all manufacturers do.

Then just srewed on an angle adapter, basicaly i made it exactly the same as an extel or any other pole.

You can also prise the screw end out of an old pole, fits exactly the same.

I think this pole puts any other 16ft to shame for quality and price.

I just wanted one reliable pole which looks good and doesnt give you splinters or is so week that it snaps at the drop of an hat.

Maybe just bought it as an old faithfull, this pole looks indestructable, I have considered this type of pole before but in my opinion they have never looked or felt as good as this one.

I am going to buy another and look to see if i can put extel clamps on one to see how they perform.

Maybe the first sign of cold weather the Harris might be relagated to the garage for the winter

Warning, B&Q are notorious for stocking items and then not restocking, so when they are gone they are gone  :'(
My local B&Q had 2 dozen in 3 months ago, now they are down to 3 and one of them has a bend/crease in it, so check the operation of the pole is smooth and buy a spare - while you can !  8)

ps. Peter Fs new shorter section clampless pole is out next month  ;)

how long do these poles last, (surely the clamps wear within a couple of weeks? )

i was thinking the same yesterday, as the clamp is going to be the only thing that wears out, and the extel clamps come as a completely detachable unit,i think thats right. does any one have the dimensions of these clamps compared to the harris

p holley,
the clamps will last a very long time, you can extend the life by wrapping a turn or two of pvc tape round the part of the pole section where the clamps grip (usually when fully extended) or you could use heat shrink, or you could lever up and slide a blob of of super/type glue under the contact points on a periodic basis and wait till it dries.

The other  factor is the anonising will eventually wear off as with the Unger poles but as mentioned you could heat shrink the sections then, but not sure if they will slide as easily as a new pole does ?

Couldn't find them in my store - only quickie windowcleaning poles and horrible B&Q own poles. Gutted.

Hi Max,
simplest is to fit a standard broom with a few wraps of pvc tape to jam it in ( this allows you to remove it later) inside the top section with the fitting removed or sawn off and just screw a basic floor brush of your choice on the end. Later you could learn to put an elbow on. You can go either inside or outside with your hose.
You will find one or two references in these topics if you study them.

Luke has explained how to repost links but I cannot be bothered so you need to copy and paste http// before the www.

I also agree that its a right pain not being able to link to our own topics on here and it will eventually degrade the forum unless its sorted. I also cannot reoprt the fact to the mods as it says you cannot report your own posts, so if theres a mod watching ???????????????????????????????

Don't just look in the decorators section, as I said before there too large to fit in some of the stores sections so they keep them out of sight ::)  Go to customer services or phone them, they will check there stock on the computer, this is what happened to me until I phoned my local store and found they had 7 in stock.

when B&Q see the sales on these pole I would bet good money that will will be back in stock, B&Q stock things that sell, lost leaders they have to sell , but new things they try then discontinue as does any shop selling many different items.
