« on: May 22, 2008, 08:12:54 pm »
There are a lot of amtico floors in Liverpool including my own and i was wondering if anyone has any advice on getting into cleaning it.The guy who did mine uses a milky cleaner and a floor buffer but he went crap and never done the corners etc so i have been doing  it myself twice a year by hand  useing the amtico cleaner in the 3 bottles, strip, polish and seal.I fancy starting up when the driveway cleanig dies in the winter and would welcome some advice on the best way to go about it,thanks dan

Forgive my ignorance but what exactly is Amico flooring ? What I'd suggest is you went on a hard flooring course, there you get the reasons to strip, why you seal and how and when to polish. Hard flooring maintenance is another skill that you can give yourself a good headstart with a course

Amtico is a floor covering that resembles marble, wood etc,it comes in strips and is used a lot in high class commercial stores,i`ve had mine down about 7 years and it`s like new,the only downside is that it costs from £35 to over £100 a sq metre and is not cheap to get professionally laid, once laid though it`s down a lifetime in the home, you buy a 3 stage cleaning kit, strip, clean and seal from amtico dealers.

I've got karndean which is similar.
Yes I think there is a market.

some people who ask for the service may need repairs, and this could be more trouble than it's worth.

Hi

Yopur local Amtico specialist will carry the 3 products required, they are not expensive, about a fiver each. You can do it by hand with a mop.

brush and vac all dust.

Apply Amtico floor stripper to get rid of old sealer

Allow to dry

Mop on new sealer

Allow to dry

Mop on polish
