35 - 40 ft for a 4 story house 25 - 30 for 3 story approx. Modular or telescopic can be argued about till the cows come home. I think a hybrid or carbon telescopic at that height can be managed easily but it is really about the limit for me.

We can reach all our 3-story houses with 24ft poles. The bits we can't reach are the veluxes in the main roof, as you have to stand back a long way to see them.
4-story we use 33ft hybrid poles - we don't have many 4-story so the weight isn't an issue.

I've always used a 24' pole, but have just purchased a 34' a couple i do are a little higher than others so went for the extra 7 feet to make things easy and hopefully put a end to my monster 45'
...If not, it wont be long before it's up for sale.
