I have looked at many posts asking , " what would you charge for this ? " Along with a few photos  : Sorry but i am always a bit shocked , that somone who knows there job would ask complete strangers how much they would charge for a quotation !

most of the time it is for feedback m8, if you dont ask you dont know,. half the people that post prices are kidding themselves anyway (no names meationed so please dont get on my case). Some do it to see if what they have already quoted is near on what others think. There are some that post because they need help.

Its always for fun - most WCs have all ready priced the job and quoted. I do it from time to time it keeps you grounded. It can be very amusing too.

Thing is most people conceal the identity of the building and no names are ever mentioned so does it really matter? After all anyone can take a picture of any building and ask how much don't mean there quoting on it. If you worked in the said building for instance doing a search for it would yield no results as no names are usually posted. If the job was that important to the poster would they post it? probably not or if they did would it be after the fact?

to be honest I think a lot of people including me see that prices vary in different ares so its interesting to us to put pics of jobs on here and see the variations of price throughout the u.k, or sometimes we just want to make sure our prices are not to big/ not to small in case were behind the times etc.

You may get a bigger number of people than normal (or so it seems) that say your quote is too high, so whats the problem with sharing the pic of the job just to make you feel better about your quote? theres obviously no "exact" price that we all charge so its good to know whats what! its one of the good things about this forum imo
