New van + system or cobbled ?
« on: May 16, 2008, 08:48:01 pm »
I want to sell my car and get a wfp system , but after number crunching I aint gonna get much !   But after looking at some new vans on a lease deal , I could afford a really good wfp system fitted  ;D .   I know I would have to cough up a few quid each month for the van , but it would give me peace of mind knowing if owt went wrong it would be fixed .   What do you think ?

You`ll be better off with a DIY setup and a new van rather than the other way round,it`s cheaper to fix your system than it is to fix a van isn`t it.

Sorry I didnt explain very well , I want a reliable vehicle and a good wfp set up .  The majority of my budget would be swallowed up buying the van . . . . Thats where the lease option comes in , ( 1k deposit )  so I have more money to spend on good wfp system  ;D

Make sure you have a static system at home then the only thing that can go wrong with a van mount is the pump.
Tank + 1/2" hose connected to pump connected to a reel of hose to your pole. Easy peasy.

sorry?? Have a RO at home in the shed or wherever and a static tank to store the RO water. Make sure a DI vessel is after the RO to bring the water down to 0. Get a submersible pump to transfer to your van tank when needed.

Is that what you asked?? :)

ps my post above was referring to what you should have in your van. No point having RO in van unless your day is made up of contracts which keep you on site for hours at a time.

I have just gone for a lease deal. You will get a 3 year warranty, but unless you have a maintainence package, you will still have to pay for servicing, tyres ect.

I would say cobble a system together, if you have the time, the diy skills and the inclination.

otherwise just buy one.

i'm really happy with my cobbled system.

for about £2200 I have a 525 litre capacity (in a scudo), on-board merlin, hot water, an everyday 21ft x-tel (might upgrade to an slx in the future), a 42ft emporium carbon fibre pole and 100m minibore hose reel.

did I mention that i'm really happy with it?
