WHAT KIND/MAKE OF WATER SOFTENER DO YOU USE? I TESTED A CUSTOMERS ONCE AND IT WAS REGISTERING OVER 300PPM FROM HIS HOUSEHOLD SET-UP.

I have a vessal (same as di) but has softening resin not di resin, I recharge with salt daily as it is a small one compared to the amount of water needed. I have now a 5ft vessal to be set up but thats for when I move or in the summer which ever is sooner saving me time per day. testing out of this vessal reads way above normal, but it does the job.

Ian,

Im very intrested as i mite set one up myself, as my tds rises slightly as the tap does. never seems to be stable in this area  :-[ was 350 last week now its around 380. so was thinking mabe best to set a softener up as by the looks of things sounds pritty cheap. vessel and softening resin?

how do you recharge it with salt? i dont know anything about a softener so any info would be great.
Dave.

Filter cartridge 10 inch:
www.wintecs.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=58_53&products_id=632

Clear filter housing 10 inch:
www.wintecs.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=466

Salt you can get it at b&q:
www.wintecs.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=58_53&products_id=348

A vessal for sofening resin:
www.wintecs.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=58_55&products_id=324

You need resin also connectors.
This will explain about it a little more:
clearwatergmx.com/saltbased.html

Have a look and ask any questions and I will try and answer them for you.

Ian

p.s I have used wintecs as an example for what you need, I use them as they are good, you may be able to get items cheaper elsewhere this I do not know.

tds after water softener is sky high like tds meter will not read x10, out of r/o is down to 9. making 2.5L every 34 secs, waste 2.5L every 46 secs

about 260+L an hour cant be bad.
