any VW Transporter experts out there?

I need to know exactly where you find proof of what model it is.
ie. 800? 1000? or 1200?
www.whatvan
shows a 1.9tD 1200, but all insurance companies say there is no such model.
I know it's a 1.9tD swb, but I need to get it's payload right.
So assuming there are only the two to choose from where will it be identified?
On my van which is not a VW there is no way of telling the payload on any docs I have.

Mine is a 1.9 swb T32
Is it a T4 or a T5
T4s are a bit long in the tooth T5s so much better

I don't really know anything about them.
T4?
T5?
I wouldn't know the difference. It's 01 if that means anything.
I looked through the log details but obviously not thoroughly enough, all it described was 1.9tD swb

if its 01 it is probably a t4 which is quite old now, I expect you are paying around the £5k mark.
The newer T5s start about £8k + vat for a decent low mileaged second hand one form a vw dealer.
I wouldnt buy one private, all the best ones are on dealer forecourts

PJ
Still got it , thinking of trading it in.
Your van should be advertised as a 800 , 1000 or a 1200, have you got a link to the ad ?

it will be a 1200kg payload then, confirm it by looking at the log book and service manual.
Come to think of it i think the 1.9 were 850 kg 950 and 1000 and the 2.5 were 1200kg
There is always the oddballs , like my van a 1.9 swb t 32 window van they are as rare as rocking horse pooh in that combination
even so a 1000kg should just about do it if you stick to 650 kg tank

Thanks Dave
I'll be happy if it's 1000. 850/950 is no good.
Just read matt's reply...I have a rotten feeling you're right

well it says it is, but according to all the insurance brokers VW didn't do a 1.9tD swb 1200. Or does the 1200 refer to something else in the ad. ?
