Hi

Just been to quote a 4 bed house, in one room she has fake tan on 100% wool carpet, I said in my experience no chance, but she has been told by another cc no problem? Am I missing something?

Justin, some were in the middle, depends on the type of tan and type of carpet. Its always worth having a go but always state that it prob wont all come out. If wool usually no chance at full removal.
The other guy must be mad to say no probs unless he knows the customer/carpet

Maybe he had a spotter with him (if he had been in person)and it transfered easily, and left it until he got the job?

then if it dont comeout he will sweet talk his way out o fit and still take the money.

had two today with fake tan, no chance of getting it out. I have used rust remover before, left it on for ages, no change, and peroxide, nothing shifts it, but if any one has a clue how to Im all ears.

I have removed it with peroxide, but you need to practice lots before going on a job, and it takes alot of time.

Removed tiny bits with it, but had it on a big bit for about 40 mins today didnt shift it.

I think Joe has hit the nail on the head. So what, he gets the job, then just shrugs his shoulders when it doesn't come out.

When I quote I cover this possibility.

As soon as you hear someone say to you they will remove that stain, you can immediately start the alarm bells ringing in your head because this is simply not possible to say for sure.

There are a few things going on in that statement it's only needed if you don't close there and then. Closing there and then is a better bet. It changes the perception of a previous quote and innoculates against future ones if the stain is the key importance to the client.

The lady also has bleach marks from 1001/vanish the other CC also told her that the soapy residue which caused these marks will be removed with his system? I explained that yes residue will be removed but a high chance of bleach marks remaining. I think he thought he was god! Anyway needless to honesty got me the job!

ive seen a few that think this and most of them use cold water rince  to wash out salt water

I have removed quite a few of these stains recently some on acrylic and some on wool. i use a combination of solutions special spotter which is the new eco spotter, rx spotter and Chemspecs helpmate spot remover, but be very carefull on 100% wool

I have a customer who's into competetive ballroom dancing. Spray tans herself in the bedroom B4 competitions. The beige carpet is lost beneath it.

Cleans up a treat.

PPS Cleaning Wool you don't stand a chance
PPPS  Specialist stain removal with reference to Grahame's technique as mentioned above is the only way to go with wool.
