Put my advert in the little local business mag start of spring when I normally get loads of new custy's from it but didn't get a lot tbh, but all of a sudden the phone wont stop ringing
I'm obviously not complaining but just think its funny the way things work out sometimes! one of the jobs I picked up today is a big farmhouse who agreed a price of £45 per month 
anyone else picking them up more so at the moment?

A couple of days sun always brightens the mood of most people and cares and worries fade quickly for a short while, customers also notice the state of dirty windows then, hence the extra interest shown in your advert.

Have been picking up loads at the mo and I dont want them as I have no vans, still they say yes making me sweat more.

i too suck an ad in local paper last month cost me £120 for a small box for six weeks not had a single call till today. last summer i only had a linner ad £38 for 4 weeks and the phone was like the bat phone for about 3 months. i'm very angry as i feel ive been robbed!

get a web site/ and a  one line add it is far cheaper and it is 24/7 all year

the ad I put in last year was black n white and did really well and this year I thought a colour ad thats bigger and more expensive would work wonders, but same as you mate, it hasnt done anywhere near as well but since the phone has just started ringing, then maybe my luck will change?

I have also noticed in the last couple of weeks that the phone has started getting busier. I was really glad to be pricing a new job everyday. But this week the sun shine boys are out in force now and it dampened the mood a little. A few months ago I would see one or two other window cleaners a week but yesterday I seen about 15 window cleaners around my area. Obviously a little competition doesn't bother me but that many guys just coming out when I'm starting to pick up the work I've been waiting all winter for knocks the good mood a bit.

Oh well chin up, no point in letting it get me down. I still love my job.

two weeks i saw 8 w/c in one day. i never see w/c round my way so i was very shocked. i live and work in a quiet suberb of bournemouth so to see 8 in a day was bazar.
it dose wind me up because i know most were as you put it sunshine boyz that will put potental customas off getting any w/c. some were legiet but most not.

they've been round here too, one lot in particular are using wfp, and a job I picked up yesterday was done by them a couple of weeks ago and they only charged her £10 to clean all the windows including the con windows plus the con roof :
what are they playing at? I was lucky to get the job because I charged the proper rate (£19 just for the windows including con and £20 for just the glass of the con roof) and I did a better job than them!! apparently they left water spot marks everywhere
