I know this is a question that has probably been answered before, however, I can't find anything relating to it?

How much would you add on to an average four weekly clean for the addition of a conservatory. 

I am relatively new to window cleaning and pricing houses doesn't present any major issues, but if the house has a conservatory would you charge as per normal windows or would you reduce the amount slightly to keep the customer happy and thinking they have got a bit of a bargain?  After all a conservatory doesn't entail any ladders and is mainly large windows.

My price works out at about 50p to 60p per vertical section. I justify the price to the customer by pointing out that (i) for the vast majority of conservatories the glass and frame are both hydrophobic so they have to be cleaned in horizontal sections and (ii) the frames are cleaned by hand to get  a superb finish both of which are time consuming.

What that means is that I clean the small windows at the top and then go round and wipe all the frames with a microfibre to get rid of any water that might drip down onto the lower sections. Then I clean the lower windows and wipe down the frames and sills.

This does a superb job and the customer will be delighted with the care you have taken and the excellent results.

I double the price. There is as much and sometimes more glass with a conservatory than there is the actual house.

Thanks for the advice, it was more or less what I thought. 

I just didn't want to look as though I was making it up as I went along, however the facts about them being hydrophobic are sure to impress if you can drop it in during the price up.  Cheers and thanks again

I would charge £1-£1.50 per window including the little ones at the top that open.More if the windows are really big.

Aye, a fiver will cover most normal conservatories. Maybe push £7 if its a little bit bigger. Theres a lot of glass on them... but theyre quick and easy to do 

I price them by vertical section... charge about 50p a piece.

Also I charge more if the glass is ceiling to ground or if there is a bottom infill upvc panel that requires cleaning.

If there is a couple of feet of brick wall at the bottom it's a lot easier and less water hungry.

Under pricing conservatories was my biggest mistake, and I am still paying the price for it.
Once you go WFP, it is no advantage having the windows at ground level, think about it, when you do the tops you stand further back, you cover the pane top to bottom by just moving your arm up and down a couple of feet. When you do the bottoms standing close there is a hell of a lot more arm movement required. Cons are often close to walls or fences, and can be really awkward to get at unless you use a 2ft pole.

I now charge the same for cons as I would any other window. Dai

I work it out at 50p per panel but most work out near a fiver anyway so just look at it now if its average sized its a fiver any bigger its more

Wally, 1 I am guessing you are wfp.
2 if you are the following counts, if not this text is no use.
3 why if using wfp are you wiping down top frames as there is no need if doing it right.
4 wiping frames on lower glass again if using wfp there is no need at all if doing it right.

If you are wfp , you are spending to much time doing something that does not need doing if done right. we/I clean hundreds of cons never have i wiped anything as there is no need IMO.

even when i was trad i could do the lot quick.

Your advice will cost to much time for no reason IMO.

I am not having a dig at you just relpying to what i have read that i think is bad info to anyone thats starting out or trying to speed up.
