Be carefull if the tiles have a sand grit finish as if you take this of the tiles will become porous and will soon decay.
If you use a jet washer always start at the ridge and point the nozzle downwards so that you dont blast water under the tiles and into roof space.
There are profesional companys that do this useing a chemical process but not sure what the solution they use is.

It was this big.

i wouldn't touch it. you can probably earn the same money standing on the floor cleaning windows.
get a price from a specialist and bung a drink on for yourself.

Sound Aadvice from AJ, I agree 100%

In the past I have done all kinds of little add-on jobs for people, but every time I have, I have never matched the hourly rate from window cleaning.

Now I'm a window cleaning 'puritan' and dont do anything else (also I don't have the time to do add ons now), however I'm sure there are some boys on here that manage to make add-ons pay well.

If I was youb before I said anything I would check my p/l insurance. I had a call from a guy to quote for his windows, plus a one off to clean all facias, soffits, clean inside and out of gutters and to clean his roof of moss. I just told him to ring a roofer.

ewan a guy on another forum from my end of the country does it and i am about to do my own roof he recomends using a antifungal wash about £4 and use proper roof ladders he charges £250 to £400 and that is cheaper than a roofer doing it and he is obviously onto something as he does about 125 a year. i personally was just going to brush the moss of my own roof, i have ckecked it and it comes off easily

Ewan,

something else to consider is that quite often removing moss can uncover cracked or broken tiles. Make sure you cover yourself against a large bill for repairs that could come your way if the client tries blaming you!

Good Luck
