It's catch 22 - I go to places that are open because it's convenient.  If they were shut I wouldn't go.  If noone went then these places wouldn't turn a profit, and they would close.  In the real world we don't act collectively, we are not sheep, and it doesn't happen.

I'm not saying it's 'wrong', just that I don't like it and its effects, but there's no going back, that's that.  We've lost something of more value that £££.

Yeah, each to thier own, no such thing a society, as someone once said... now, who was that?  ;)
Mr Tumble,

I choose to work when I want that is why I went self employed at a young age and have never looked back, I went to a farm with my kids this morning (they had great fun) I did a little work as I am behind (van broke down)

One day I do not work is Christmas day (by choice and not forced on me)
Bank holiday is just another day to me, I dont like being dictated to, and as I said before I choose when I take time off thats why I work for myself I am not a slave to society, and society and many beliefs I did once hold got smashed to bits from laws of the sad land we call home and the flood gates opened. (flood tonight great 2 part)

There's plenty of room for the self-employed, no problem.  Thank God we're not all at it, though.

Good.  At least it wasn't anything life threatening.  She was still laying on the ground surrounded by people when I left and I hadn't noticed any movement.

Instead of working today, I built a big BBQ and spent the afternoon with friends.

I dream of taking a train to Dawlish and brandishing spades at the sands, eating fish and chips for lunch and coming tired and feeling complete.  Things of the past.... that what I like.  Familiarity, not weirdness.

you nearly almost all work for yourself and it sounds like your mottos are LIVE to WORK (not good)..  i dont work sundays, saturdays, or mondays nevermind bank holidays. a week for crimbo and a lot of family hols in between, your motto should be Work to Live....(thats mine) and i still make a good living..
