Dean,

Are you a limited company? If not then your title shouldn't really be "Director"?

Also... Under Services > Window Cleaning you have at the end of the paragraph:
"All work is also carried out in accordance with the HSE 2005 (amended) working at heights guide lines. INDG401(rev1) ."
Then directly opposite you have a picture of you up an extremely long ladder which isn't footed?  :-\

Honest opinion its horrible on the eyes.

The site is just too bright.

Your home page looks like a contact page

About us page - A large client base was built in short time Primarily from word of mouth. These clients mostly comprise of Domestic dwellings, communal apartments, and commercial offices and shops.

You dont need a capital letter on Primarily or Domestic

Quote from your site - There is miniumum water waste making our methods the greener choice. Minimal water use environmentally friendly!!!  - I hope your not using detergents then as there manufacture and use defiantly is not.

Gutter, Soffit and Facer board cleaning. should be Fascia.

I think the use of the ladder pictures on your site without footing or safety devices wont help you attract commercial clients in modern times but at least the pictures are your own which is a big plus.

The use of meta tags and keywords and content could be much better. If you wish this site to rank on google etc.

But dont be down hearted its a start and a good effort and a web presence is better than none.

Hope this helps  ;)

andy, thanks foe your comments. what should i refer to my self as then? i'm not sure wot to put.

as for the pic of me up a ladder. i'm not going to comment because it will only start of a huge debate on wfp v's trad again and i'm getting sick of reading them so dont want to make this post one of them.

Honest opinion its horrible on the eyes.

A. i know its not to some peoples liking but its my company colours so i'll be sticking with it, loads say its effective and actractive. thanks for your oppinon mind.

A. point taken an i sall address it asap. i too thought that.

About us page - A large client base was built in short time Primarily from word of mouth. These clients mostly comprise of Domestic dwellings, communal apartments, and commercial offices and shops.

A. cheers hadnt noticed. i'm very dislexic.

Quote from your site - There is miniumum water waste making our methods the greener choice. Minimal water use environmentally friendly!!!  - I hope your not using detergents then as there manufacture and use defiantly is not.

A. lol yes i know, driving a van is too bad for the enviroment but i'm fooked if you think i'm walking from job to job. lol every little helps.  ;D

Gutter, Soffit and Facer board cleaning. should be Fascia.

A. Point taken. thank you ive looked every where how to spell that but till now drawn a blank. i'll have to change me flyers now. lol

I think the use of the ladder pictures on your site without footing or safety devices wont help you attract commercial clients in modern times but at least the pictures are your own which is a big plus.

A. i revert back to wfp v's trad arguement not going there any more! i work alone at pressent so i have to be clear how work is carried out by me. yes i know it would be safer footed but it would also be safer if i had a iron man suit on when crossing the road. you cant win them all.

The use of meta tags and keywords and content could be much better. If you wish this site to rank on google etc.

A please please exsplaine. i dont know what this means.

i'm truely greatfull for you help and have taken on board your comments. i shall act on those that need acting on. cheers guys!

Dean - I understand that you don't want to get into a WFP v Trad argument, we are not trying to do that... But if you work alone you should never be going up that high on a ladder surely? Its askng for trouble???

Hi Dean,

Thanks for the comments on my site

You would be more than welcome to take a few ideas but please try not to quote text verbatim as google compares site text and this harms your ranking.

Meta tags and descriptions are parts of your site that google uses to list you. Its in the code of the site. If you right click and use view source on your live webpage you will see this information. (I think thats how to do it on a pc - I use a mac nowadays) Using the terms window cleaner in verwood, window cleaning in verwood etc will really help. Just using window cleaner will not help your ranking as the term is to generic. Also adding some text as to where you on the site itself will help to.

Hope this helps

Kev

This from from your site in the source code, kev beat me to it on how to view this:

<head>
<title> | </title>
<meta name="keywords" content="window cleaning, dorset, ferndown, verwood, bournemouth, window cleaner, gutter clean, DCS, deans services, colehill, ringwood, wimborne, wash down, jet wash, presure clean,">
<meta name="description" content="window cleaning dorset ferndown verwood bournemouth window cleaner gutter clean DCS deans services colehill ringwood wimborne wash down jet wash presure clean">

you are missing a title for your page (this is at the top on the blue bar) called a title bar, be descriptive to your business. Also you may want to change your description you may want to look at as it read as a load of keywords and not a description.

Your site colours are bold but if they are your company colours not much you can do about it.

One thing I would say is about your contact numbers should they not be more visable as I am guessing you want people to call you.
email address does not look professional IMO use email from your domain name and not a free email address.

I think you did very well doing your site on your own. the ladder pic that has been meantioned is not a trad v wfp thing, pictures can speak a thousand words and safety is an issue. You are missing ALT text from images.

Some of your images are slow to load. A bit of optimisation/compression would be well worth doing.

Main comment is about the grammar. Full stops and capital letters seem to appear at quite random places. Find someone who knows about these things and get them to check your site over and make the corrections.

I can understand what you mean about being an expert on ladders, and I'm sure that your time in the army gave you good training in safety and self-preservation. Just remember the saying: Pride comes before a fall.

Ricky Brownsea???

Dean I would replace this photo with one from your gallery or use a stock photo etc.

I see you have already been working on the changes and credit to you for accepting the constructive criticism. It's not easy to do when you put your hard work into something then get it pulled apart, but you have done the right thing.

If you do want to give yourself a title as a self employed owner of the business you would be the Proprietor not Director which I see you've dropped.

Also need to re-word this sentence as it does not read properly.......

If you want a company that you can  depend on time after to carry out work well presented  and appropriately behaved then look no further!

Some other Spelling errors ..........miniumum (minimum) on Service page. Dont (Don't) on Home page

Hope this helps

Wayne

Hi Dean

I like your site and the colours. In fact I have just changed my own to really bright colours. My opinion is don't give a stuff about what anyone thinks as you can never please all of the people all of the time. If your happy then thats all that matters.

Here is a site that will help you with your meta tags etc.. www.freewebsubmission.com  or you can try: www.submitexpress.com also here is a site theat will help you make your pictures web freindly: www.webresizer.com/resizer/#

A links page will help your rankings, if you want to exchange links let me know.

Hope these links work if not try cuttting and pasting them. Hope they help you.

i took the picture of ricky cleaning the windows at brown sea castle and considering he wasnt cleaning them just climbed my ladder for the photo i shall be keeping the pictur as i think is a nice shot. are you that andy from smart clean who had to ask some domestic tumbler for some of his jobs back that you had given him years ago when you thought you were the best thing since sliced bread?

i'm still not to sure on the whole meta thing but i'm gonna look at the links posted and have a go. thank you one and all.

i dont know what you mean 'i'd not like to advertise igoing up on 3rd story ladders.' why not? theres no law against it some companys look for ladder users because the finish wfp leaves is not saterfactury for there cliants. but please dont get in to an debate about it. i am very greatful for the comments and advise but could people leave the oh my theres a man on a ladder coments alone. getting a bit repetive now.

YES I am Andy from Smart Cleaning Ltd, I sold my domestic round 5 years ago to jeff at clear vision, back then I was one of the first in Dorset to invest into WFP and now I am doing very well thank you, we presently have the contract for Poole Hospital 50+ blocks of flats, Sun Seekers, Siemans, AND a splash of houses on canford cliffs / sandbanks which included many famous TV stars!

Yes it helps google bots pick up on the words you use like window cleaning york or whatever your main area is.
If you put your web addie at the bottom of your profile on here or any othe forums that you go on, then that helps aswell.
You should also have a links page and exchange links with as many people on here and other forums as you can.
