Forget the work that her dad has promised you, how much have you picked up?  It can take time to get a business up, running and profitable.

i will be working with her Dad just now. whils tout working i have been akse dto do houses for people but i can't because of my current job.  250 per week should cove rmy bills and my partner will help me out. her dad is planning on slowing down so his work will then become mines. I will ge twork easily enough i reckon. If i can get another 80 house sper month on top of what i currently being given i will be fine. up here houses are about 4 quid up to 8 quid.

sometimes you just need to make thta jump and leave the cosy job and its security. If it doesn't work then i will get anothe rjob easily enough.

I must admit I would never have left the comfort zone of my old job, but I got laid-off and at 46 had zero prospects of getting further employment. So w/c'ing came to my rescue back then. Of course 4 years on I realize I should have done it years sooner.

It takes guts to chuck in a job and go self-employed, but it sounds as though you've got a good basis of a round going and that can be built on.

All the best, my best advise is never sell yourself short. Price what you are aiming for £25+ per hour then life will become easier.

It will be an uphill struggle at first but you will soon be flooded with work, reputation sells so always sell yourself and do a good job.

Remember it is a business and a job, don't run it as a job.

yip massive gamble to leave it is. i currently study H&S at college and will finish it this year.  Bit scary walking away from 20 odd K per year to 250 per week.

It's entirely up to you.

If you want to build a 40k plus business, you will, but you have to work for it.

Make it as easy on yourself as you can - get some good quality leaflets printed - put them out about 100-150 at a time, leave to "soak" - follow up with a door-knock about 2-3 days later.  Repeat until you have enough work.

I've just built up £1000 plus per week for our latest franchisee in less than 12 weeks.
