help with ro seals

ive aquired 2 40/40 used ro,s taken the membranes out and noticed on both there are no rubber seals on the top of each membrane is this how they should be?thanks pdh

 Hi pdh, 1 lip seal on each membrane and 2 o rings on housing 1 each end ,dont forget the membrane only goes in one way .  Mike.

what ro housing is it? not come across any without seals

Thanks mingram.the white 40/40 as ionics and and others use,the housing has the seals on both ends just hadnt a seal at the top[out] end of the membrane which is normal{just been informed}.Had them both connected up to the outside tap with no other filters but i couldnt work out why the the waste water was far greater than the ro water{even with a hose lock garden sprayer attached to the waste pipe to try and restrict the waste flo rate ,the ro water stayed at just trickle.Had a reading of 450 going in and around 30 coming out so the ro,s are working .Possible that i may get hold of another 2 so if anyone would be interested in one we can maybe work some thing out,

came from a farm no other fittings or filters just the ro units{any ideas why anyone}
What is the pressure out of the tap ?

not sure but i have a garage system with same40/40 ro running fine of the same  tap ?
sounds to me that the ro is flushing on full hence the waste water
