LADDERS
« on: April 29, 2008, 02:09:06 am »
I'm trying to help out a friend here, he is currently trying to set up his own run through all the legal channels. But with him having a young family and having no income when he comes off the dole to start window cleaning, he was wondering if there is any company that sells ladders that would allow a pay at the end of the month term. remember he has no trade history or references.

Thanks

It isn't a straightforward answer, but it may be worth him speaking to the benefits office. If he has just a small amount of work, he should be able to still claim some benefit. He might be eligible for more tax credits too. They might also provide a grant if it gets him back to work.

If not, then take up one of the offers you have already had from the good people that you find here!

Best of luck to him!  :)

Hi There,

Tell him to get in touch with the princes trust and get a loan from them. Thats what I did and got a lot of kit from a loan. I even bought a water fed backpack and ibc and ro with the money I got. The best thing about princes trust is that if he can't afford the re-payments for any reason he can call them up and get them suspended until he can afford them.

Give me a second and I'll find the address..

www.princes-trust.org.uk

He would also get a business tutor and they usually have a few contacts in the area. They usually get in touch with a few of their friends who have big houses and a few shops.  ;)

Hope this helps him.

i think the government will give your mate a loan or something  to get him started ....none of the ladder mfrs would give credit in this case..good luck to the lad for trying to help himself.

Get him to go into the Benefits office and tell them he wants to start up as a window cleaner but he needs some help getting started.

They will give him loads of help, send him on courses and he can get a startup grant as well. They will be falling over themselves because they claim him then as one of their successes.
