I set myself a target for today but my pump (100 PSI flojet) packed up early afternoon so that wrote the rest of the day off.
Just wanted to publicly say a thanks to the guys (particularly Keith) at Omnipole once again.  A quick phone call, a hours drive to South London, and one new pump supplied and fitted.  This is just one reason why I don't mind giving money to larger suppliers because there is usually a reasonable backup service and that needs to be paid for IMO.  If I had ordered a pump over the phone, I may not have got itr until Wednesday.  Although much of the afternoon was written off, at least I am ready for a fresh start tomorrow.
The pump had 2 and a half years use (almost) so I consider I got my moneysworth from it but I suppose I should have had a spare in stock.  I have spares of most things but not the pump - probably the most important thing to have a spare of.

Yes it was quite an oversight on my part.  I do intend to get a spare one in the next few months to avoid this happening in the future.  I could have cannibalised a pump from a disused RO unit but it was only 60 PSI.  I believe that if using 100m  microbore and doing high work, it is better to have 100 PSI.  I like to be able to work with a decent flow.

Are you sure that the pump is definetly dead shiner because my 100 psi flojet packed up last week, or so I thought. I didn't have a spare either but I sacrificed my backpack and used the pump from that, it took me about 45 mins to get it out and connect it up to my tank. Anyway when I got home at the end of the day I thought I would have a look at the old flojet which was 2.5 years old the same as yours, I replaced a couple of the cables which were looking a bit worn and hey presto it sprung back into life!!! Hopefully I'll get another 6 months or so out of it!!!

Well I left the dead one at Omnipole.  Keith did do a thorough testing though and his verdict was - DEAD !!  I didn't watch closely what he was doing but I don't need to as I trust his competence.

He's probably going to sell it on ebay!! Is Keith the one with dodgy teeth? If its the one I'm thinking of he connected up my RO totally wrong when I first started wfp, nice chap though!!

It pays tp keep a spare pump connected up just for days like this Shiner when yours packed up. Cheaper to carry a spare than lose a days work.

I'm surprised to hear about your RO.  He's always been fine with any jobs he's done for me.  Ah well.  No-one's perfect.
