ive never understood that statement

you still clean the windows, its all the same action be it 4 or 8 weekly cleans

sure they are a bit dirtier, but lets be honest, they arent that bad

i know what you mean but i still do them just means some days are longer than others but i have always had this problem as i do 2 weekly and 4 weekly . and now because i am pricing properly and targetting the right propertys i get 8 weeklys you just have to shuffle work about till its due at manageable days

do it the easy way, put the cost up by 50% and do them all every 8 weeks

I don't mind two monthly at all. Just about the same work for a few £ more. Wish all mine were two monthly, I suspect I could make a lot more money with a full round of  two monthly customers. Of course, it takes longer and more effort in the first place as you need twice the number of customers.

Me too. I prefer trying to get domestics on 6wk unless they're large and commercials monthly.

I had a lot of this some years back.  When I got to the point where I was stacked out with work, I went 6 weekly across the board.  I lost a couple of bi-monthly jobs over it but most of them went along with it.   It cut out the "not today thankyous" due to the longer interval.  It also makes it a bit easier to juggle work around as a couple of days or so is less easily noticeable.  Occasionally I get one who wants to go 12 weekly.  I just tell them that I only do that for jobs of £50+ .  I conceded a lot of ground going from monthly to 6 weekly and am very reluctant to concede yet more.  I have even lost the occasional customer over it but sometimes it has to be a case of "this far and no further".  Of course if the economy goes totally pear shaped I may have to review that one day but until that day arrives I will stand my ground.  If I allowed individual customers too much leeway then I would not have a business.  It only takes a relatively small number of custies to mess about to make an OK business into something that is not OK.

Do you find itr can mean more travelling time though?
For instance, you could have some customers in a road on 4 weekly and a couple on 6 weekly.  It would mean that you sometimes have to go there just for the two customers.  Of course, if your work is all close to home this may not matter so much.

I personally not keen on 8 weekly cleans, purely because my round is mostly 4 weeks - and for simplicity I like to keep it this way.

I do have few 8 weeks, but when now asked if I will do an 8 weekly clean I politely explain  that I all my 8 weekly slots have been allocated, and now only taking on 4 weekly cleans - All have gone for this.

Once you are stacked out with domestics move them all to 6 weeks across the board.
Commercials are a different fish.

My whole round is practically 8 weekly and I have a few 4 weekly and the difference between them dirt wise is hardly noticable....

I think that 8 weekly suits me and even then they seem to come around so quick...

But here in Holland 4 weekly is very rare...most are used to 6 and 8 weekly.

Yes it does mean more travelling but my round is pretty compact anyway. Virtually all my customers are within 1-2 mile radius of home.

I do the same as Vince, the reason being i'm grateful of any work i can get, so i'll take anything on. George sorts it out and it gives me some variety to the job instead of the same boring round all the time. The downside is that your workload is then very unbalanced - stacked some weeks and sparse on others, and then you end up revisiting the same road in the same week.

Tell you what I do and that's to have one week allocated for the 8 weekers and keep 'em there. If one or two don't get done, that's tough, and if it goes on for a couple of time I drop them.

This refines the quality. Yes, it loses money in the short term, but the quality is high.

This probably only works with a close tight round, not more than two miles diameter.

Every four weeks I know I have a week off for myslef or can fill it with insides or gutter cleans or pressure washing or diy jobs around the house etc.
