Has anyone tried to fit a HM spitfire into a Renault trafic swb.Is there enough room for wands,rdm,chem shelf,hose reels etc..

I believe traffic have 5 sq m of space in back, my ducato has 8 sq m and i fitted a bluline cobalt, and its tight, on space and weight.

Don't know of any tm's in traffics

Doesnt Colin Thomas have a boxer in a long wheel base vivaro which is nearly the same vehicle.

i fitted a PC Cub, with sub tank, hose reel and shelvin into a old renault traffic years ago,  so i should think it will fit ok

I have a Boxxer fitted in a Nissan Vanette Cargo so you should be okay with the Traffic. The only problem you may have is with weight if you carry a fresh water tank. I don't carry a hose reel as I find it easier to just bungee the hoses.

Our Hydramaster Maxx is in a LWB Sprinter, it is a big van but the associated bits and pieces seem to fill it with little room to spare.

At last years Hydramaster open day, they loose fitted a 3.2 Spitfire with tank and reels in a Peugot Boxer. Plenty of free space.

The 3.2 has a smaller footprint than the larger machines.

It isn't just the T/M and ancilliaries, it's every thing else you might want to carry.

A seem to remember someone saying that you need a minimum of 1.1 tonnes for a T/M

Dave Ingram had a similar sized T/M with a reel and ancilliaries in a Fiat Scudo.

A guy in Sutton Coldfield had a 3.2 fiited into a Vauxhall Combo van.  No Fresh water tank though or hose reel.

yes your rigth and if it looks over weight your going to get pulled its only a matter of time  when minds  fully loaded its going to be about 400kgs over the top  with 650 lts of water and the max will take it well of a tonne with out anything else

No problem, I have a Boxxer 421 in a swb transit and if it's racked well then you can fit all sorts.

I have room for TM and 200ft hose reels, 2 turbos, upright vac, buffer, chemicals galore, leather kit with compressor, large wand, pile brushes, 2 x 9l sprayers and loads more.

Just need to be orderly.

I have a spitfire mounted in a ford transit connect lwb and the hightop version. It is a bit cramped but i fit 200ft hoses in along with a scrubber and two wands. I needed something small as i work in london and often have to park in very cramped conditions and lots of times i have to work from underground car parks when cleaning the communal hall ways of flats and apartment blocks. I had hydramaster fit it and then a local company added shelfs that i can take out in a few minutes if i need access to the machine. The only thing is i have to be organized and put things away tidy, so if im running late i cant just throw it all in

Just dont forget 'Size isn't Everything'.
Ive seen lots of CCs vans with absolutely loads of equipment, TMs, chemicals tools etc in the back, and from what Ive seen, I can tell you most are not only overweight but massively overweight.
Now this is not a problem until PC Plod stops you or worst still you have an accident and if its your fault and someone gets hurt, they will throw the book at you. Ask Dave Ingram about when he simply got stopped, becuase his van looked heavy and they did him not once but once each for each of the three axles that were overweight.
I have a long wheel base, high roof Citroen Dispatch and this van has a 100kg more payload than almost any other van of the same size. There is a lot of room in the back in spite of there being a big TM fitted. However I am limited to what I can carry because of the weight issue. I only carry chemicals that I may need for the day, only 200ft hose (the rest stays in the garage) and with afull LPG tank, half a Diesel Tank and Half a Water tank, and just me in the front, I only just legal. If I then put the RX20 in or someone cadges a lift, I am over the weight limit.
