does anyone do canal boat cleaning by power washing
the boat to remove aglae etc.

Do you just want to clean the growth off or remove the antifoul ? the first you just use your jetwash and the second because these hulls are steel is best done with a sand or slurry blaster or if its glassfibre with a sodablaster

I got a soda blaster but I don't advertise anymore as the insurance implications are a nightmare. I got good responce from PBO - practical boat owner but a card on the notice board at the local yatch club gets local work

thats what i will do i was out yesterday and my friend said why not get into cleaning these. how much would you charge to clean them when they are out for the weather.

did you get any power washing of boats? what the going rate?

You usually find the marina or boatyard include this in the cost of snatching it out of the water but it depends on how posh the yard is or if its a true club, they usually organise a day, hire the crane in and remove loads of boats one after the other. This is when theres good work because they are in a hurry and you can do several or go in on a dayrate

someone said to me they think its 6.00 or 7.00 per foot to power clean the boat?

I doubt if you'd get that - canal boats go on forever !
