Work Still quiet !!!!!!!!!!!
« on: April 19, 2008, 11:19:10 am »
Hi does anyone have any spare work in  or around Oxfordshire,

I am looking for work, would be happy with early mornings or late work, We specialise in the Domestic market but will obivously be happy with contract and commercial work too

I over the last two weeks put out high impact flyers and have been cold calling agents and busineses in the area,

it would appear to me that the domestic work is slow and people are employing directly to save costs and the influx of cheap labour  pouring into Oxfordshire is now having an effect on prices,   £6.00 per hour  seems to be the going rate at the moment, mind you we all know you get what you pay for but people seem to be willing to risk the consequences.

Many thanks
Dave

Yeh it does seem to have picked up, but with more customers telling me how much they are willing to pay, which is very low. ( how times have changed)
Large amount of polish people offering cheap services . GREAT EH !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Dave

The only thing I can say is hang in there because sooner or later it will pick up - try offering other services like carpark cleaning, its not much but at least you'll have some money coming in or other services or even say that you have special offers on to attrack more business. Where I live its the same and has been like this for a few weeks. I'm now trying different things to pull in some more money.

Something to think about...........

Thanks Paul

I have been out pacing the streets and putting flyers out around existing customers, i will wait for the phone to ring, Dont seem to be having much luck at the mo as i have just brought the distribution rights to distribute a new device for compacting your rubbish in wheelie bins in oxfordshire.
Have just recieved it today and found out it    does not fit the wheelie bins we have here, doh !!!!!!!!!

Will keep trying thou and get past this quiet, We have a MY HOME franchise operating locally advertising constantly on our local radio station too, makes you wonder whether they are finding it quiet too.

If its only the odd drive and such then get your self a little petrol one off ebay, they are quite suitable for small drives and such, i bought one last year and the first job payed for it ;D and as become a nice little earner...... you will need a water source from a tap, although i did a small wall a couple of weeks a go from a static small water butt on the back of my van, (although i can easilly get the whole lot in the back of a mondeo ;)
