I've been doing both since December the thing that has made the most difference for me is canvassing with my logo on a polo-neck "so in a uniform as such" get your patter right and your on to a winner.

I think the polos were about £16 each but had the logo designed and 5000 flyers printed for about £200 I did consider getting magnetic signs for the van but I target houses rather than people if that makes sence.

i'm soon starting my 5th year window cleaning and i have found jan, feb and march to be good for new customers. Good ones as well. I pick up or get enquiries each month, but winter has been the best time for me.

Leaflets all year round...seems to give me a healthy 2.55 (avg) customers per week based on the last 85 weeks and 1.57 customers per week this year (but was on holiday for the first month of this year).
But looking at the figures....April/May/June(07) were good.....but very little July/August/September(07).
Cheers
Dave.

April is the best month for me, as i advertise in the thomson local and for my area that that gets delivered the beginning of April, ready for all the spring cleans.

So far this month we have picked up 10 jobs. I dont know if it is the time of year or the fact that the van is now written. either way is going good so far.
