Hi Rob

Minibore is 8mm bore - normally 13mm outside diameter.  Increased flow rate over microbore (6mm)

Microbore 6mm - lighter and thinner than minibore, easier to get 100m onto a reel and provided you have the correct pump/varistream setup you can get a good flow with it.

We use 95m or so on each reel of 6mm and can still shoot the water about 12ft out of the brush head if we want to.

My preference is for 6mm but 8mm is very good also.

I have a 100psi  pump. That should be ok should it not.

Also does it put more strain on the motor?

May be a daft question but do you save water.....I thought I read this on a previous post.

Thanks for the reply.

i prefer microbore 6mm. Though im using 100m minibore.
the 100psi pump is commonly used without problems. I guess 6mm will put more strain on the pump, but thats why some use a varistream. 8mm hose is going to hold a larger mass of water in the hose all the time, but no difference in saving water?

Minibore can make those annoying squiggles, almost like a kink, but it wont shut the water off. But once youve got it straightened out its really not bad, i havent noticed much with the flow rate, good stuff, i have found its a bit stretchier, like when you get it caught on something, or pulling it around a house its a bit stretchier. Though never had any trouble with flow on the 6mm stuff, found it didnt kink as much, and was a bit easier to handle. Whatever you get unroll the whole lot in a straight line on an industrial estate or something, then twist it so its not twisted up, then roll in on the reel, ey presto.

100psi pump will be fine - are you using a varistream with it?

saves water?  depends - I like a high flow so I run my digital varistream at 2 or 3.

I never really understood the benefit of trolleys, with saying that there are places where one woud be a great help but overall no way.  Van system all the way.
