worst day wfp to date
« on: April 15, 2008, 07:01:48 pm »
just wondered what has been the worst day you have had since being wfp.

my day started bad and carried on the same, sitting here thinking about it is making me laugh (better than crying)

may day started when I woke up late because I could not sleep went to bed at 6am woke at 9.50 (late for work) feeling like I had been hit by a bus (back killing ect)
make a cup of coffee to wake me up milk was off, turned pc on would not load for ages, sorted that out then the internet was going dog slow. Printed work go to van would not start. got it working get to work at 11:30.
pull out hose set everything up start cleaning, then water stops  >:( back to van no light on ecoflow, wobble wire light on, back to cleaning, 2 seconds later stopped again. change wire light on great back to work again, cleaning one window then water stopped flowing again back to van fuse blown  >:( :'(
change fuse have 2  a 5 and a 10, go for 5 in it goes clean half house water stops again (swearing to myself at this point) wobble wire works again, finish house after about 1 hour (meant to take 20 mins) everything back in van, will not start :-[ now thinking I should go home then it starts :-\ get to next house everything out of van, start to clean water stopped did this about 5 times then finally started again, clean 2 houses on a roll now 2 hours now gone do another then water stops again so I strip it back change wire swearing at it as I am doing it, now all working lights on  ;D then stops I touch the fuse get a burnt finger because fuse has melted but not blown then get a shock off it, now feel like jumping up and down and burning then van.............goes on like this for another hour then get houses done get to last customer nice lady shes upset just found out she has cancer so I still having a chat with her trying to cheer her up, leave at 5:30 on way home smoke pouring out of van exhast :-\ then it stops, then nearly have a head on crash as some idiot is on my side of the road over taking on a blind corner >:(.

go straight to shop get a couple of cans of fosters get home, wife asks have you had a nice day ::) don't ask me for an hour please. open up can of beer son comes in chuffed as punch daddy i got tifecate and a pencil for being clever boy at school (he's 4 bless him)  ;D my day had passed cold beer relived the stress and son made my day.

I cant wait for tomorrow  ;D

Ian

Glad I got that off my chest better out than in.

Anyone else been having a bad day?

i hate when the varistream is not doing what its supposed to walking to ands from the van, you must walk a few miles on a bad day. (roll on wireless hand held pocket varistream)
did you sort out the wires in the end?

Ecoflow does a remote control for their ecoflow controller. Forgot who sells it. Never heard of anyone use it before.

Ian have you got any of those scotchbrite connectors on your wiring? I had similar trouble and burnt a fuse out. Changed to the other straight line crimp on types and been fine since. Oh, and i re-did the connections on the battery too.
I've had bad days too, but not that bad! Mine usually end up with the pole hose splitting at the tap in front of an audience making it look like i've wet myself. ::) Or getting my hose snagged yet again and pretending it's cool and doesn't bother me. :)

always bring in the bread but was having second thoughts today........... total nightmare.......still thinking about it now making me laugh....

my wire connections for fuses are the blue ones that cut into the wire and click shut ( am seriously thinking of changing these as they seem to be a royal pain in the bum. second time I have changed them in 4 months

nearest focus or b&q will have the wire on the reels, or a car shop, which will also have the bullet connectors. You could use croc clips onto the battery, 10a fuses the red ones for the controller i think.

Well  fuse's blown and then hot melted fuses, blue connectors etc, brings back a memory, when I helped a member on another forum with a very similar problem, it took us days to do it but he followed everything I asked of him, the problem was traced to a trapped wire that rubbed the outer covering from the cable.
So if I was you I would check for trapped wires that can cause excessive current to be drawn through the wires and fuse.
It doesn't  always necessary blow the fuse but it can cause wiring to become hot and melt  fuses and cables.

This was the end results in trapped wires.

I slept in for the first time in years.  >:(

Then I had a company who only ever give me one off's on the phone because I hadn't cleaned the windows on a job they had asked me to do. When I got to the job I started right around the other side of the building to my van. Got round the other side after switching pump on and it starts to rain, so I walk round to my van and put my coat on. Walk all the way round to my pole and does a couple of windows and the sun comes out. Coat off, back to pole. Kept on like this for a while. Then as I finish after a couple of hours I put all my kit away. Out comes one of the Tenant. " You have left your water on my windows!!" " Its pure water, it will evaporate on it own..Blah,Blah,Blah." "Rubbish, my windows are dirty still after it rains and thats pure water!" " Its pure water, it will evaporate on it own.. Blah, Blah, Blah." So she storms off grumbling "Idiot." So then the phone goes " "Hi this is so and so from the company you are cleaning windows for. One off our customers is complaining about the mess you left on her windows." "Its pure water it will evaporate on its own..Blah,Blah,Blah." "Well could you please use your squeegee or a cloth to dry her windows?" " I'm defeating the point of the objective if I do this as my van says ladder less and I'm doing second floor windows. If I do hers I will have probably everyone out wanting theirs done, which will take days." goes on like this for a bit, then the woman comes out and says " I've just read about it on the internet what a good idea, keep up the good work!" So then I jumps in the van, puts it in reverse and crutch. So I jumps out of my van and walks around the back to find what used to be one of my hoses hanging out from underneath my bumper, rips it out, throws it in then drives off.  >:( >:(

Still, I love cleaning windows.

ask youself why this is happening ian you paid for a factory fitted system , wires shouldnt burn out the fuse should blow to prevent this happening .if a fuse blows in a plug its not caused the wires to burn or damaged the wires its normally caused by a surge of power .
where theres muck theres money
