Hi Folks

I was just reading through another thread on this forum when I had an idea. Literally in the last 5 minutes so I haven't even sanity checked it myself yet but 'strike while the iron is hot' and all that stuff

The thread in question was to do with mentoring and developing new lines of business etc. Then when somebody offered to email somrething, the inevitable "me too" started. So then I thought about what the guys on the Carpet Cleaning side did recently with their CCDO - Carpet Cleaners Day Out. I didn't go but read all about it - was organised by some of the guys with speakers on various topics, both technical and marketing type stuff I think.

So maybe we need to organise something like that for ourselves because things like The CLeaning Show serve a diffrent purpose and audience really.

Then I thought about SCSF and what role they could play in something like this

I think its a great idea and would certainly attend so long as its not in London!

Creating a business plan (bet one of the high street banks would send someone for nowt)
Street Level Marketing (what works what doesn't)
Creating a website and getting it noticed
COSHH/Health & Safety
Insurance issues
101 top cleaning products
The best equipment
Recruiting, managing and keeping a great team
Manuals, Handbooks, etc
The financials
and loads more I'm sure

we are actually having a "day out" in the summer(scs.f) , although it will be a light hearted affair, i am sure something along those lines could be organised at some time in the future and we would be happy to help organise such an event.

Only positives can come out of these sort of events, I think you will find that most of the carpet cleaners will tell you that the networking side of the couple of days was the most valuable.

I'd be interested in attending depending on dates and location.
