Trafic, Vivaro & Primastar owners
« on: April 13, 2008, 07:50:08 pm »
I have a nissan Primastar SL27 1900 DCI 100 BHP.
But unfortunately it didn't come with an owners manual, i just wondered i anyone would be so kind as to tell me what the correct tyre pressure's should be?
I know that it can vary depending on the load, so any info would be gratefully received.

Rich ;)

It should be written on the side wall of your tyres, mine is and believe me when it is loaded even at 55psi you will thinbk they look flat!

Might also be worth checking the rating on your tyres. If carrying weight they really ought to be C rated. Most normal tyres are R.

The rating on your side wall is the maximum pressure for your tire, and not the recommended pressure for the tire for your particular car/van, and front and back pressures are almost always different.

Look it up in the manual, or maybe it's in the fillercap, or a special plate in the door sill.

Inside the door sill on the drivers door there should be a plate listing recommended tyre pressures depending on the payload?

I usually set mine to 60 PSI.  I was quite alrmed at first because my previous (much smaller) van was 28 PSI.  On the tyres fitted to my Trafic, the maximum is 70 or 75 PSI (can't recall which) so 60 feels OK.  I'm not saying that 60 is right BTW.  I will check out what the other guys have said.

the manual is missing from the van, and there is no info anywhere in or on the van.

front 52 and back 62,

thanks chris, i put 50 psi front and rear this morning just to be safe, phoned the local nissan dealer and that was just a waste of a phone call!! they cut me off after waiting about 10 minutes >:( >:(

not nice vans at all, i've driven the convoy's in the past and they're absolute pants!!
