We are looking at leather Repair/Restoration but are unsure of who to go with

They both seem extremely professional but we cant make up our minds. Has anyone been on either of these 4 day courses and was their anything you didnt like about it? Also have the training processes really and truely helped - in the real world?

Its even more confusing with Roger Koh's amazing stuff....

Any comments would be appreciated.

I think it depends on what you want, I believe that Furniture clininc will teach you and LTT will talk at you! why? you have seen the posts on here!

As a rule I dont like getting involved in this unnecessary 'whos best' sort of thing, but over the last 5 yrs I've been doing courses and using LTT products. I have found them to be excellent. Andy is a top guy who knows his stuff ,no question! Any  problems I encounter I can phone them and they are only too willing to help me out with advice. I get on with both Andy & Judy .
Also I have met Ben and found him to be fine and very helpful and have tried some of his products also.
What I dont like is been made to feel as I have to be 'LTT or Furniture Clinic' .after all I dont only subscribe to Prochem , Chemspec or whoever .
Can we just lay this nonsense to rest like grown ups and listen respectfully to advice and help from those who kindly give it.

Mike good post.
Leather can be scary to do at first so a good starter if you dont understand different types of leather and leather finishes is to go on a trainning course.

LTT and Furniture Clinic both provide good trainning, so to answer your question Kev, I would go to the nearest one in my area to save on travelling and costs etc.

Both will provide you withan excellent course and  back up service once your running.

Sorry guys, I wasnt trying to make this a 'who's best' situation as I dont know either of them and dont wish to get involved in any politics.

I sincerely wanted to get some feedback on them and I value all opinions. At the end of the day I have to choose one, and was just looking for some constructive comments. Thanks all so far, all pretty sensible replies.

I have done the ltt course and found it excellent along with there products, Andy is a top guy who knows his stuff.
The reason i chose this course is that it was the nearest to us, i cant comment on the furniture clinic course as i havnt done it.

I have done both Ltt and FC training and found that they are excellent. Both show you different stuff, so if budgets will allow I would say do both LTT and FC.
That way you always have a backup
But for starters go for the one that is nearest you

I think LTT let themselves down with the attitude shown on here, they have excellent products and do know there stuff but as the saying goes "be like Dad and keep Mum"

Supprised they do run an Emergency Leather Course cosidering how hot hot hot the topic is.

Mike Roper is correct, pointless excersise on who best etc.
We all have favourites in all walks of life.
What you like someone else dislikes.

I have been on training with both of them and would do so again - both were very good.

As to their products - you got to suck and see - I do not think any producer has the best product range throughout or else there would be no competition.
I have FC products and I have LTT products. I take em both on leather cleans with me and I may use both just to see whats working best in that particular situation.
Isnt that what we do to some extent when cleaning carpets.

Well, we have decided to go with LTT cos the journey to there is approx 3hrs, as opposed to FC which is approx 6hrs

My advice is source an old leather chair you can play with after youve done the training.  I didnt and now find it difficult to remember whats what.
