firs tof all i planned to have a 400 l system but trying to source a decent van with 800kg payload is a pain. I am a fussy person so finding it har dto get what i want  in a van. low mile sservice history etc etc.

i probs may chage tank to a 250 l instead.

what ya all think?

buy a bigger van. it is a pain to have to refill. it will cost more in the long run to stop for refills. sitting waiting = not earning

how much you go through per day roughly ?

It depends on a couple of things 1 what kind of work 2 how quickly you work,if you work quick and use a higher flow rate you`ll use more water and you`ll use more water on first cleans aswell much more.For a good days work on domestic i would say you want at least 400ltrs,full day on commercial a 1000ltrs in some cases,400ltrs for domestic should see you through 6hours worth of work which is ok in winter but you might want more in summer.

i use 150 L a day doing upstairs and the occasional downstairs

i did a area today that i do up and down ( front OR rear down ) ( it was my test area to see if people minded me doing both up and down )
i also did a small comercail job aswell

today i used 250 L

well i am only starting out and will need to get use dto wFP also. how many properties did you do.

I can`t see the point in that at all,if i pole i pole the lot and if i blade a few i`d rather blade the lot.You won`t see the full potential of WFP by doing that if you ask me but each to there own just my opinion.

I'd recommend a 650 litre setup,.. I've got a 400 litre tank and some days I do run dry.

i use 250 l and i am managing sometimes half to fill up about lunch time isnt a problem as i am on DI only, so takes about 15mins, but if i was to do it again i would get bigger

my trolley currently has my spare pump box on it, its running a 60 psi pump at full whack with no varistream or by-pass fitted, just pumping what it does( a little too much water, but not by much )

today ive done 16 houses and 1 commercail job

the reason i do upstairs is because i started that way and i found it helped with people understanding WFP ( the H&S side of it ) i like to blade the downstairs as i know its a 99 % good job, the work i have done today as i said is on a area ive done for over 5 years and i know they will be honest with me, i chose the area t test out doing WFP up and down ( down either front or back ) ive done it this way for 9 months now

why not get a 250 L tank to start, then you can "Piggy back" another tank on top ( or side by side ) if you need it

this is about where i am heading next(650ltr)
the longer you are wfp the more water you will need over the course of a year or so
from then on you should find your own level,i do virtually all external wfp apart from a few smaller bungalows and my water usage has increased as i have become more proficient with pole
i carry 400 ltrs but sometimes i could do with more so in summary dont skimp on how much you carry
if you get a 250 ltr now you will be kicking your self in a year mate,go for a bigger tank,you dont HAVE to fill it every day ,but you will have it ready for the future

On average if the system is set up correctly (in my opinion)one man uses 1 litre a minute so 60 litres an hour, say you actually work cleaning windows about 6 hours a day allowing for travelling in between then a one man set up needs to be 400 litres.
It would be better to get a larger set up if you want to grow the business and not go to the expense of buying another tank in the near future.

When I switched to wfp my first system was 600 litres as their was no one to get advice from, two years latter I built the next one with an 1100 litre tank and now 11 years latter we use 1200 litres per van - two tanks one of 800 litre with a linked back up tank of 400 litres.
